final voyage

Tonight we took the boat off of Nag...because Nana and Papa's lift will be coming out next week. And it was a nice-fish day, so would rather do it on a day like this than when it's 40 out. Beautiful sunset on the last ride. Eddie joined me driving the boat to the dock.
We washed and vacuumed it out, so we can have it winterized and then it'll be ready to be stored for the winter. Barely got it all done before the sun went down.

We did it...

All of the plants and shrubs are in the ground! Just have the 3 big trees left. We decided we are in over our heads on these. So going to have Luis and Friends Landscape handle those for us, as well as the outcropping. More to come when we finish the mulch and lighting.

here we go...

Gizmo is unmoved by all of the plants/shrubs coming today...
Rowan brought home her gym uniform to be washed today...she is proud.
We have our work cut out for us...Breezy Hill Nursery delivered our 100+ plants today...
 And these ginormous trees too...

Tonight, Eddie and I got to catch the first period of Ed's game...then we had to go pick up Rowan from gymnastics. Wasn't a super exciting game while we were there.
Come to find out, Ed had a hat trick...saved all of the excitement for after we left.

sweet boy

Today we got an email home from Eddie's teacher...This was the gist of it. There really aren't any words for how proud we are of him. There are days when you feel like you are failing as a parent, constantly yelling, thinking your kids don't listen to a thing you say. Well, this is proof that apparently they are listening and doing good things when we aren't looking.

Let there be dirt...

Well, we have filled out newly landscaped areas with dirt now. 8 yards worth to be exact.

Great Grandma Audrey + mites

I was overdue for a visit, so I invited Amanda to join me because GG has never met Luke. So we stopped up by her for a visit and then headed out for lunch. Both boys were hamming it up for her.
Turns out, Eddie didn't make the Squirt A team. He had to be one of the top 5 skaters...and that didn't work out, although they don't share with us what he ranked. So here we are at Mite grading. He is thrilled for a picture yet again.

new phone!

When I returned from NY, I ended up heading to AT&T and returning my new phone, because I didn't realize the iPhone 11 was coming out so soon. I had 14 days to return my phone, so it as day 12 when I returned. So I had to use an old phone, 5S, while I waited for my iPhone 11 Pro to be delivered in about a week. It finally came today...so I made the kids pose so I could use the new camera. That is the biggest difference with the 11 Pro.

Quite the weekend...Luke, sod removal and first meet!!

We were supposed to have both Blake and Luke this weekend overnight Saturday while Amanda and Peter were at a wedding, but of course Rowan's first meet fell on Saturday evening. So Grandma and Grandpa agreed to take them, and we took Luke Friday night during the rehearsal dinner instead. Blake is in the wedding so he got to go to the dinner with them. Luke was up twice during the night, which is standard for him. Then we got to have him up until his second nap after lunch time.
While Luke napped in the morning, we were busy outside prepping for landscaping by tearing out sod. Luke did perfect, slept until we were about done actually.
Back to tractor driving, Eddie used me for my weight to be able to drive. He just needed me to sit in the right spot so the tractor wouldn't turn off on him.
After Luke's nap, we played a bit, fed him lunch. Then took him over to Grandma and Grandpa's for his afternoon nap so we could get ready for Rowan's meet.

Started out the year with the Sweet Treat meet in Oak Creek.
Since Rowan is 11 now, she is in the older girl group. So for this meet, just 11+ was in this group and the other girls competed earlier.
Rowan brought it tonight!! 4 medals.
And MWT took home 1st place. We got put in charge of bringing the trophy to practice on Monday.
And she has already qualified for the State Meet.

Our fans for the night. Grace lives in Oak Creek so she joined in on the fun this year! So glad to have her and be able to catch up. Thankful for all of these people that love to support our kids was much as we do.

Go Packers!

The party was waiting for us. We headed over to Dan and Jenny's after landing back in Milwaukee to watch most of the Packer game. Perfect ending to a few days away.

my 1st NY trip

 Day One!!
We arrived in NY before 10am, had a 50 min Uber ride from La Guardia to the Financial District.

Mitch met us at his apartment to leave off our luggage, then he headed back to work and we grabbed some lunch at a BBQ joint near his apartment.
Then we headed and did the...
After that we headed to Ground Zero and the 9/11 museum. Which took several hours.
After the museum we headed back towards Mitch's apartment and met him and Gabby out for appetizers and drinks. We weren't really hungry at that point, and had been up since 3am. So we headed back to their apartment and watched a Netflix show and ordered pizza.
DAY 2...
Mitch and Gabby worked, so we ventured via subway downtown to take a one day bus tour. It is so amazing downtown NY City. We got to see them preparing to film a GMA series on the Lion King. Walked in circles for a half hour trying to find the right bus to board...details. But we got there.
We didn't even do all of the bus tour options available, but we saw A LOT. Mitch joined us late afternoon in Chinatown.
We headed back to the apartment late afternoon to freshen up and get ready for dinner. After dinner we hit up a few more sights. I really wanted to see downtown at night, all lite up in the dark. But man, that is when the crazies come out. We went to Do, thankfully shared so we could try it all. Another long day of walking, fresh air, lots of memories.
Saturday morning we hit up a bottomless brunch, arrived at the perfect time to get the last table inside without a reservation. Food was great, mimosas greater and company the greatest. Then we headed for some shopping before seeing Chicago. Best.decision.ever. Gabby threw this idea out last minute because tickets were buy one get one free or something, so was a great deal. And it was awesome. Would definitely see another show next trip. Saw a few more sights, Rockafeller Center, Radio City. Did the HiLine walk...then ubered over to Katz's Deli for dinner. We wrapped up the night on their rooftop hangout with a few beers. Sadly we are heading home tomorrow. What a great trip. Short and sweet but full of memories and saw so much!!
