Halloween 2019

Woke up to more white stuff this morning. Nothing like trick or treating in boots this year.
We even had to go out and shovel the driveway after work/school before trick or treating started.

Had a few costume changes this year too. Eddie went as the inflatable dinosaur Saturday, but we lost a piece to the fan, so I did attempt to super glue it....but once he tried on this costume that Nana had made from past years, he wanted to wear this one instead. So he stayed warm with no coat in the Sully costume. Rowan started out with us for about 5 houses and then was cold so came home and hung out by the bonfire with Ed.
Eddie and I did the majority of our neighborhood, then when we stopped home, Rowan wanted to come again to finish up the neighborhood, so she slipped on the Poop emoji so she didn't have to get back in her penguin. Good thing we had options.
Eddie was in it for the candy tonight. He was a bit slow in this heavy costume and snow boots. But we made it. He kept saying how much fun he was having.
So glad he can still have fun with just his Mom!
Ed burned some brush we had been wanting to get rid of. Worked out for staying warm and handing out candy too.

Not too bad for just our neighborhood. We were a bit concerned we were going to be the only ones that didn't hand out full size candy bars. There were a fair share of houses that handed out full size, but we definitely weren't the minority.

double duty

Both kids were at the dentist today for their 6 month check up. And both kids have a cavity. Eddie's was super small so they were able to take care of his right away with no numbing. Rowan will have to come back for hers to be fixed. Sadly, Rowan's is in a permanent tooth.
Then it was on to practice for Eddie. He decided to dress Red Wings tonight, representing his favorite, Dylan Larkin! So cute!

Woke up to this today...ugh, it's only October.

Trick or Treat in Sussex

Tonight we bared Trick or Treat in the rain. Sussex doesn't take Halloween lightly. Lots of decorations, bonfires, shots, etc. Would have been much more fun if it hadn't rained. But we got the group through one court and called it quits.
The group, Eddie, Blake, Rowan, Mia and Luke.
We sure got wet, but survived.
 Our penguins...Rowan and Luke.

penalty box...

Well, despite Ed's 4 goals and penalty minutes, they still couldn't pull off a win. Hard to do when you are always short skaters. Tonight they had 9.

pumpkin carving

Finally found some time to carve pumpkins...a random Wednesday night. It was our only free night this week.
This year both kids did some of their own carving, which is new. These tools are so dangerous, we still struggled allowing it. But there were no injuries thankfully.
Turned out pretty darn good.

Salto Autumn Harvest Meet

Meet 3 in the books for 2019 @ Salto in Waukesha. Our 11+ year old girls together again.
Rowan getting ready for what will be her strongest event of the day.
Eddie with his 50/50 raffle tickets, but really they are Aunt Karen's!
Rowan took home 2 medals today, beam and bars, like usual. But the vault judges were harsh, and she missed her back extension roll on floor, so didn't have her best floor score either. But it was better than last meet.
Bars 9.025, Beam 9.125, Floor 8.375 and Vault 7.65 Overall 34.175
And as a team, the Level 4's took 2nd place, behind Gymfinity.
Excitement of the night, Ed won the 5050 raffle. A whopping 67$ (really 62$ since he put 5$ in)
Nana and papa, Karen and Doug and Aunt Amanda were in attendance to support Rowan tonight.

Grandma's in town

Grandma Pam came to visit us this afternoon before working tomorrow. She joined us for some shopping at Mayfair Mall and Costco. Then she got stuck entertaining the kids a bit, but she loved it. Nothing like some Googly Eyes. Then we subjected her to some Korean Rib soup, spicy delish.
I was off the hook for a change this evening.

let their be light!

Landscape lighting is in! Just need a couple more on our birch trees, but huge improvement. Oh the joys of buying new homes...we will finish the sides of the house next spring. And maybe the back next fall. What would the HOA say now?

Ed's at it again

Kids and I got to watch a full men's league game tonight. Ed's team couldn't pull off a win...but he skated hard. Giggle. Some great defensive plays and lots of shots, they just couldn't bury any.
