Happy Halloween 2018

Sadly this year, they weren't allowed to wear costumes to school...so we only got to wear them for trick or treat tonight! Oh well.

Eddie the poop turd...
Poop emoji!
(made by Nana last year for Kieran, and Eddie wanted to re-use)
 Rowan the Panda!
 Which makes Panda Poop!
Laney and Beth joined us for trick or treating! And thankfully for us Mom's they lasted about an hour... and then were complaining about feet hurting and being tired...so that last 30 min was our trek back home with a few houses in between! Lots of candy to donate today!

And Eddie had so many people saying out loud, poop or puns r/t to his costume I almost had to record it. Only one person called him a Hershey Kiss (Kieran got that a lot last year from older folks). But everyone had something to say!
I will say...moving back to WI, I will like trick or treat during the day on the weekend! Not a fan of school night trick or treat!

final walk through

Tonight, Ed was at our new house for the final walk through with the builder. Thankfully they didn't find anything major to be finished. Mostly the cleaning...and sod. Which weather permitting will hopefully go in tomorrow or by end of week. But the outside painting is finished minus the columns! Looks so good!

Bottom is before, top is after!

the sun!

Pretty cool sky this morning...feels good to see the sun these days.
And when I go on break and look for Gizmo...fully expecting him to be on a bed if he isn't downstairs...but nope, curled up in the corner of our room. I think bed heights are hard for him these days.
And we are squeezing in as much friend time as possible in our last week. These boys...Xbox and knee hockey...constantly.
They did squeeze in a few minutes for a mummy dog too!

Sunday...

Well, we had an uneventful morning. I paid for my fun last night for most of the morning...Ed and Eddie played Fortnite and Rowan enjoyed her Chromebook! Then it was lunch time and time to take Ed to the airport to fly back to WI. On our way back from the airport we did some shopping and errands. We had birthday gifts to get for parties Eddie has next weekend. Rowan needed some gifts for her big sisters at gymnastics since she will be leaving before any of their meets. So we had CherryBerry for a late afternoon lunch, we did need to get gift cards there too! So we were at Target, Maplewood mall, Pure hockey and Cherry berry!
Finally took some pics and lit our carved pumpkins tonight too! Pretty cool!
Rowan used a Claire's gift card and got some fake nails; I tried to warn her they were garbage. They were great...until she got ready for bed and washed her hands and 3 fell off...so the $8 lasted about an hour! She thinks Mom know nothing!

halloween fun

Carved pumpkins this morning!
Rowan's on left (supposed to be the rolling eye emoji) and Eddie on the right...carved by Dad.

After pumpkin carving, Rowan and I were off to Target to get some shopping done. We had some birthday gifts to get for next weekend, some dinner needs for our friends coming over, and some Booing needs because we got Boo-ed last night.

After this, Rowan headed to gymnastics. Then Ed and I had to get some work done in the garage. Move the boat and got all things that will be moved out from around it and into the first garage stall so the packers don't go near the boat on the 5th of November. Just trying to get things pulled together and organized before moving week arrives.

We got together with the Peltier family for dinner and some fun tonight. And I didn't take 1 picture, and I am mad about it now. We have so much fun with them, parents and kids. They taught us to play cribbage this summer and it is the best. So we had a taco bar, chatted, watched some of the Wild game, played cribbage and enjoyed ourselves a ton. The kids just do their thing and get along great. We will miss them all greatly.

Then when we were losing the kids, they headed home and we put the kids to bed and headed down the street to the Kadrie's halloween party for a bit. We even dressed up...thanks to our kids costumes from Rowan last year...and Eddie's this year. (fits Eddie and Rowan much better). We got to see many people from the neighborhood, play some flip cup, and then were home and to bed. Have we mentioned we will miss this neighborhood greatly! So many great people.
The pumpkins at night!

Adult Halloween fun!

Another busy Saturday at the Smith house!

We got Boo-ed last night...should've taken a pic of the goodies, but didn't. So this morning while the boys played, us girls went to the store to get some goodies to carry on the Boo-ing. We decided we would do the Nalipinski family and Maas Family! The kids wanted to do the delivering with the Peltier family when they came tonight.

Then Rowan headed to Gymnastics, and Ed and I worked on getting the garage ready for the packers. Ed wanted everything out from behind the boat so they aren't working anywhere near it.

Then we picked up Rowan and got ready for the Taco bar fun with the Peltier family. I am so angry we didn't take any pictures of our fun with them. We hung out, taco bar, watched some Wild game, played cribbage, had some fireball and apple cider and called it a night at about 945p. They decided to just go home and not go to the Kadrie's party...we decided to go hang out for a couple hours.
So Ed and I pulled out the kids emoji costumes and off we went. We had a beer and played a few rounds of flip cup...and then were home just after midnight. Perfect for us. This is the one thing I will miss most from MN...ugh!

movies and progress

I was having some Mom guilt today...kids were off of school 2 days last week and again tomorrow, and I have worked all of them. So tonight I decided we'd go to a movie! We saw Smallfoot, and it was super cute!
This was our first time at White Bear theatre since they remodeled; and it's amazing. They have heated recliners, enough said!
Nana was back by the house tonight! They are super close to being done, and it looks amazing. I can't wait until they finish the front so I can see how the contrast is. They did the final grading today and they have also added the railings to the deck!

Bling It On!

This girl is not feeling 100%...but she won't let it hold her back.

We were up and got IHop for breakfast, back to the hotel for a quick swim and showers. Then we checked out of the hotel and met Karen and Doug for a quick lunch at Potbelly's! Then we were off to the Oshkosh Gymnastics center for Bling it On!
Loving the new Leo...and they use ribbons and no scrunchies!
Rowan and MWT started on Beam...and Rowan had an amazing beam routine! She got an 8.825...previously her high was 7.7 on beam. She stuck her cartwheel like no other...and as you can see had an amazing hand stand as well!
There were a lot of high scores in today's meet, so we weren't sure if Rowan would get a medal. She didn't place high...but still high enough to take home 2 medals (on bars and beam).
MWT took second place for the entire meet session!
 Rowan and her fans!
Not only did Rowan have a personal best on beam today, and take home 2 medals...she got a qualifying state score for the first time in all her level 4 meets! Atta Girl!
Ed and the rest of the fans headed back to the lake country area...while Rowan and I grabbed some Arby's and started on our 4+ hour trek home to MN. Both kids were passed out 5 min after eating!
