success!!

So the eye dr agreed to let us take home a few pair of contacts for Eddie to try. And he got both of them in today! Rock star! And actually...when we were in the office trying he was using a mirror and today he did it in his bathroom without looking in the mirror. So proud of him.

(forgot to mention his dad bribed him with letting him get Fornite before his last office attempt; apparently it worked)
Then we were on the road back to WI this weekend...started with a trip to Kiltie with Nana and Papa!
These two love each other so much! So grateful!

contacts and pictures

This kid...so great! We were at the eye dr today for the second attempt at getting contacts in. Last week he tried for an hour and was super close. Today he got one in and was super close on the second. So the optician is going to see if the dr will let us take some home and try them. Decision pending since she is at a different office today.
This afternoon we had pictures for school, dropped off our supplies, met our teachers, and found lockers. We informed them that they will be temporary students...since we will be moving in the near future but date to be determined based on when our house sells.
They both smiles like champs. This was practice.

it's official

Our house is on the market!

offer and challenge

This is the house that won us over!
So we wrote an offer...and they accepted it!

And then this happened...Rowan challenges her brother to do gymnastics, crazy flexible things, all the time. He at least tries.

houses, zoo, pool, dinner!

While Ed and I spent the day house hunting with Nana...

These two got spoiled by Grandma Julie, Grandpa Kris and Aunt Amanda.

They started their day at the zoo.
Then had lunch and squeezed in some swimming.
Then when we were done house hunting we all headed out for dinner at the 5 O'Clock club.
Busy but fun day! We do our house hunting list narrowed down to two. Excited for the future.

cuteness overload

Gizmo wanted to share in Rowan's comfort today...before we let go of the bean bag that hasn't been touched in years.
Then...since we disclosed the fact that we are moving....we are heading back to WI this weekend to start looking for a home! We stopped for gas in Hixton...and Eddie insisted on a picture with this big fish. Such a goofball!

last MG practice

This group of boys...have been so fun to play with this season. Hockey won't be the same without them. But man has MG taught Eddie a ton. This weekend is their last tournament...but for the lower level, so we won't be playing.

announcement time...

Our house is going to be on the market next week! Ed has accepted a job in Milwaukee with Brady Corporation. The job listing came up a few months ago, Ed applied, flew to WI and interviewed...and then decided to inform them he wasn't interested in moving forward because he had potential opportunities in his current role, and he didn't think they would offer him enough to make another interview worth his time. So a month went buy, or more...and they called him again. And said they re-worked their numbers and would like to bring him back and make him an offer. The interview went well, and finally an offer worth his time came through and he accepted.

We were always hoping to move back closer to family before middle school...so this timing is working perfect. Not great with the school year starting...but good as far as middle school next year for Rowan!

These are pictures we had to share with the realtor in order to get some comparable in the area.
We told the kids, and they thankfully took it better than I thought. I was in tears in anticipation of them being in tears. And they weren't! And telling our closest friends here was just as hard. We have met so many great people in our 4 years here in MN, it makes it hard to leave. But the timing will never be right, nor the circumstances, so we need to do it while we can.

I created a video to share with family...and took more than these pics...but the gist is...this was our first house (we didn't own it, but we were married when we lived here, we got Gizmo, and Rowan was born when we lived here)
Then we moved to Neenah, WI, lived here for 3 years. Eddie was born here too.
Then we went back closer to family again, and built this home...but only lived there for 13 months. Rowan started Kindergarten while we were here.
Then we were off to MN for Ed's job! Eddie started school while here. I got to stay at home with him for 2 years prior to that. Then I started with Humana when Eddie started kindergarten...Rowan started gymnastics when we moved here...and Eddie learned his passion for hockey too....among his love for many other sports...golf, soccer, baseball, etc. But now it is time to head back home again after 4 years.
