follow the leader

Another Thursday with swimming lessons! And I remembered the camera this time. Tried to use the new point and shoot, but the quality and zoom wasn't as good as I wanted it to be. But we got a few pictures!

Ed 'accidentally' stayed with the almost 3 year old group today when they split up the class (the teacher said she was close enough) So Rowan got to attempt to listen to the teacher and do as she said? Sort of. The teacher takes each child one at a time and asks them to blow bubbles, and kick and a few other things. Rowan did blow bubbles, but she wasn't so into doing the other things she was asked to do? She has some time.

I have a feeling we will be in this class again through the summer, and hopefully in the next class (no parents) in the Fall. We will see. She just isn't quite ready to sit independently and listen to the teacher and follow directions quite yet. Not that she disobeys, just doesn't quite have the attention span. She is more interested in what the other kids are doing than to listen intently to the teacher. Typical of an almost 3 year old in my mind?

Preparing for a little sister...

When Breyson and Sawyer were here to visit, they tried out some of Rowan's dress up shoes. By their own choice might I add. I guess they were just getting ready for their sister who will be joining them in August! This is what poor Eddie gets to look forward too. Sorry the video is very short, but I didn't think to video it until they had their fill.

Faith.Trust.And.PixieDust

Yes, she is very goofy! Here she is in one of her Tinkerbell obsessed moments! If you have never Tinkerbell and The Great Fairy Rescue, then this makes no sense to you at all. Guess you better go see it then!

He talks aka coo's...

Finally got around to adding the one and only video I have of Eddie so far. Hope you all enjoy!

lovin' it...

the new camera...and this picture!
I decided to try to get a picture of the kids together today not only to try out the new camera, but also because I realized that I accidentally had them dressed alike! No joke, I didn't plan these outfits. But they coordinated quite nicely and therefore made a perfect picture to update the blog header!
For whatever reason, Rowan decides she will willingly smile for the camera when she has food in her mouth. Makes for great pictures hey?
And for those that didn't make the cut!

the doctor and the mall

These two things shouldn't be in the same sentence, but they are two visits I made today.

Was in for my 6 week check up today (was technically 7 weeks, my MD was out of town last week) with the OB doctor and all is well. Time to start preventing more babies again! Feels like ages ago that I last took birth control! But lord knows we don't need another, especially right now! For inquiring minds, we are pretty sure we are done having babies, but we have agreed to wait a year until we do anything permanent to prevent it!

My mom was here to watch the kids today so that I could attend my doctors appointment. So after the appointment, we ventured to the mall. Let me just say, I could never do any mall shopping with 2 kids alone! But we did survive. We might have been pushing it a bit near the end, which would explain Rowan acting a bit sassy. Grandma Pam spoiled us all, and we got out of the house for a few hours! Too bad we couldn't have been outside, but I will take a trip to the mall anyday when the weather isn't cooperating!

7 weeks old

Here he is, smiles and all! Getting so big! Can't wait to see what his stats are like at his 2 month appointment. Have another week and a half to wait for that. And the dreaded vaccines! At least Mommy is dreading them!

Otherwise, life around here has been standard. We are going strong on Similac Sensitive and Zantac. We are generally (Mom and Eddie) up 2 times a night for feedings. Occassionally I am lucky enough for a one time a night feeding, but that is usually one or two nights a week only. Generally he is a happy baby as long as you are willing to change his positioning/scenery frequently. He is only happy in one place for a short period of time before demanding to be moved! That is an easy fix generally.
Speaking of vaccines, everytime we have been to the doctors office for Eddie, Rowan has been along. And she has said more than once that she isn't getting any 'owies' today! She remembers getting vaccines in that office, and she has only gotten them there once, at her 2 year visit! Amazing that she remembers that and correlates that! Too bad in July, it will be her turn again!
