field trips and games

Rowan went on a field trip today to see a play (Diary of a Wimpy kid) and to the museum...Rilynn's mom, Renee, chaperoned and sent me this picture of Rowan, Rilynn and Avery!

Then tonight, Rowan had her first soccer game of summer league! Thankfully it was right in our backyard at Oneka!

Happy Memorial Day!

Nothing better than spending the day relaxing, grilling, water sliding, and new friends!

We learned last week that one of the girls on Rowan's soccer team just moved into the court by us! And she is the same age/grade as Rowan! Her name is Allie! So she came over to play today with the kids.

home for the holidays

We picked Ed up this morning and were headed home before 10am today...hoping to get a day or two at home this Memorial day weekend. Ed finished up the fire pit by caulking...the kids and I played a game of yard yahtzee!

Pretty much just enjoyed being home and using our new patio!

We even ate dinner out on the deck! 

Nothing like some corn on the cob! 

Bachelor time

This morning I dropped Ed off at Northern Bay Golf Resort to spend the day/night being a bachelor with Peter and friends. He came prepped with a cooler of beer, golf clubs, snacks and an over night bag. Hope they're responsible enough!

Then I headed back to Grandma and Grandpa's where the kids were playing outside. We ran a few errands to a few stores and came home armed with new bedding for their bunk beds and some water balloons for an afternoon of fun.

While the kids played, Grandma and I got to work on her garden. She bossed me around and I did the dirty work. Pretty successful afternoon.

Then before dinner, we were talking into a trip to the Lyndon Station park!

We were all ready for bed in a timely fashion...minus all the texts I was getting from Ed!

Last day of Pre-K

So, my little boy is heading to Kindergarten next year! Last Day of Pre-K!

After school, Eddie and his closest friends from school met us at Cherry Berry!

 

And then after Rowan got home from school, we were on the road again! Heading to Lyndon Station for 2 nights. Ed is attending Peter's bachelor party tomorrow in the area, so we will stay and hang out with Grandma and Grandpa! They got new bunk beds for Rowan and Eddie to sleep on when they are there to stay!

Great Grandma Goldie

Hoping not to overwhelm anyone with this picture...but need to update on my Grandma Goldie. Over a week ago, my grandma fell in her bathroom. She tripped on a throw rug and fell on the lip of her walk in shower, fracturing her sacrum and tearing internal flesh essentially. This all turned into a couple of surgeries to determine sources of bleeding, being in ICU on a vent for a week, etc. I was able to visit her last Saturday when I was in town, but she was sedated on a ventilator at the time. So it thrills me to see her awake and off the ventilator this week. She still has a long road ahead of her, but slow and steady wins the race usually!

Today, Eddie's preschool class sang us all the songs they have been working on this year. We also got to enjoy some cookies and milk together afterwards. And get a few pictures of our new friends from the year.

After the school show, we went home for lunch. This poor pup was sleepy, but couldn't help begging when Mom was eating salad from a bowl. He was silently wishing it was ice cream.

Artwork update...our wall of art was getting over stuffed, so it was time to take some down and photograph to always remember.
