chickadee

Eddie was so proud of his project he did at school today!

Rowan was hesitant to go to school this morning, until I told her if she stayed home that she would be laying in bed all day...then she was ready to go. Thus, after school playing she was just fine!

1st sick day...

Yesterday Rowan was doing some coughing and extra nose blowing....well this morning she complained her throat hurt, so she stayed home to get better! Will be a quiet day around here.

Early Easter x2...

We started the morning with breakfast of course...then it was back to Nana and Papa's room for Easter celebrating! The kids all got paint cans filled with goodies! So cool. And the hit I think was the silly glasses that they all got! See below....

Cat Girl!
The Sheriff...
All the kids in disguise!
After the basket chaos was over...it was back to the pool for the biggest kids. Hudson headed home...and us adults watched.

The kids swam for about an hour and a half and then we packed up and hit the road. We have to stop back at Grandma and Grandpa's to pick up Giz!

And of course...there were more baskets for these kiddos! The Easter bunny hid baskets and eggs for the kids there too!

We had a quick lunch after finding baskets of goodies...and then we were on the road for the final lag home. When we got home...the first thing the kids wanted to do was check out all their Easter loot again.
Such a fun weekend with family. Not looking forward to the unpacking part of the weekend.

The Smith's

Madtown

We had a rather uneventful night at Grandpa Bill and Grandma Pam's...a couple beverages and some play time, some online shopping and off to bed. We were then up this morning, had some breakfast, and were on the road to Madison to meet up with the Smith clan. We left Gizmo behind to play with Cadillac.

We arrived at the hotel about 945am. Visited with Nana and Papa and bit before Dusty, Julie and Hudson arrived. Then the kids swam for a bit with Papa before we headed to lunch!
We ate at a Mexican restaurant nearby! Julie and I tried out the personal shaker margaritas! Delish.
After lunch we headed back to the room to get ready to swim. Hudson didn't trust his Uncle Ed...he had a death grip on his coat! Smart boy!
Everyone got wet at some point this afternoon. Then we had a few beverages and played some cards. Some adult and some Uno.
Hudson even joined in the water fun for a bit!
All the men and their kids...
Rowan the fish!
When we had had enough of the pool area, we got dressed and met in Nana and Papa's room to hang out. We played some more cards, the kids played, we ordered pizza, celebrated the youngest boys birthday's with gifts and cupcakes. Before all the fun, Eddie managed to fall asleep.
Eddie was quite excited for his gifts when he woke up!
Blayne and Molly brought the cupcake cake for the boys...and the frosting was delicious. Not sure what it was, but it was so good.
Of course the kids enjoyed it too! After a day of swimming and fun...we didn't make it very late.

friday...

Friday's have become Drew and Eddie days! They play together at one another's houses, or sometimes at both! They get along pretty well. Occasionally there is a disagreement if they want the same thing, but it is usually easily resolved.
When Rowan got home from school today, we hit the road to head to Grandpa Bill and Grandma Pam's, with an end destination of Madison tomorrow morning to meet up with our nephews and families.
Both kids managed to fall asleep on the way!

other additions and thank you's...

When Nana and Papa were here a few weeks ago, they also came bearing a sewing table and chair for me! This table and chair were Grandma Carol's that Sue had refinished for me. She also recovered the chair...and with leftover fabric she made pillows for our bed! Love it!
Rowan registered for the Color Run that is a school fundraiser and 5K run/walk this week...and she has already met her goal! Thank you to all that donated and will donate.

Rowan's room

BEFORE:
AFTER:
I've been playing around with chalk paint, and decided to refinish Rowan's bedroom set, and purchased a painted dresser that Nana and Papa delivered a couple weeks ago. So it is finally getting somewhere! Still need some things for the walls and new lamp shades, but it is close.
