they're up

Glad to be back up on skis this summer.
Nothing like a Piper selfie too.

Baby Shower day

Today, I hosted a baby shower for my cousin Jenessa at my house - along with Andi, Casey, Ashley and Amanda. We had a good showing and was nice to see everyone finally.
The lady cousins in attendance - along with Grandma Audrey.
Great Grandma Audrey with a few of the great grand daughters.
Your hostesses - minus Ashley. She had a work function so we left her off the hook.
Everyone!!
The new Momma and Grandma Audrey.
It's been awhile since I have hosted a shower of any nature, it was a great excuse to catch up with everyone given the year we have all had with the pandemic.

Tourney time - in Hartford

We learned all about baseball tournaments this weekend.

Our first one for baseball. This one ended up being just one day - and it was a toasty one. Thankfully we had a tent and cart to pull all of our goods in for the day. We were able to set up our space and move it to each diamond as we played.
The boys played very well. Ended up in the championship game at 630pm.
We even saw and played our old neighbors from Neenah, the Kok family.

Griffin and Eddie are the same age.
Mom's bruise from playing catch with Eddie last weekend. I looked away for a minute and he threw the ball. Thankfully it was my knee and not my face.
The boys pulled off second place. And it was an exciting championship game. The ump left the game because a coach was complaining about a call. I had to head home and start setting up for a baby shower I was hosting the next morning, but heard all about it from Ed, Eddie and Rowan.
More waves of sportsmanship throughout the day.
Trying to stay cool
Well, baseball tournaments are definitely different than hockey, especially on a hot day. We had plenty of snacks, supported the local baseball team concessions, escaped for a meal for some a/c in the car, and the boys had a blast.

Ed's Birthday!!

He decided he wanted to try a new restaurant in Milwaukee called Reb Crab.

Totally normal to have a werewolf in the restaurant?

Everyone wears bibs
The before...we went with crab legs and shrimp. It was tasty, but the crab legs were a bit of work.
While the food was good, for the 30+ minute drive to get there, not sure we will return.

Last week of school fun!

HVAC started in the basement this week!
Baseball game - Eddie gets more consistent every game, at bat and in the field. Super fun to see.
Eddie's 4th grad class - last day of school. Thank you Mrs. Imig.
Mulch was delivered! Bring on the edging and mulch spreading. Thank you for Green and White services for being reasonable and quick.

Piper is One!

Piper Puck Smith is officially 1!

She weighs 20#
Eats raw dog food - is partial to Turkey Tuckers brand and flavor. 1 full patty/day.
She loves to walk every morning with Mom.
Takes turns every night sleeping in Rowan or Eddie's bed - and occasionally makes an appearance in Mom and Dad's bed.
While she is picky about her dog food, she isn't picky about human food.
She very randomly will excited pee when she sees people, but it is infrequent and hopefully she will outgrow it.

She has been the best addition and we love her dearly.

It's June - bring on the water

We started the weekend with MJA tryouts for Eddie Saturday morning. Ice time, followed by parent meeting and contract signing. Then it was home to shower and head over to Wales to spend the afternoon at the pool with the Parson's family. After the pool, we had dinner and drinks at their house.

Then Sunday, we tried out the lake for a couple hours. Weather wasn't the most sunny and warm, but good enough for the kids to tube and pups to swim a bit.

Pups looking cute in their life jackets.

She could be a model for dog life jackets.
A snack between swimming and slide at the Legends pool
A snip of ice time - was trying to get Eddie in a photo with the Go365 Humana advertisement in the corner...wasn't very successful.
Piper even tried out the tube with Rowan this weekend - while her tail was wagging, she was a bit unsure.
Pretty great weekend to end the school year with. Only a couple more days of school left.
