Maddie's birthday

Today we spent the afternoon with our favorite friends, The Nalipinski's! Celebrating Maddie's birthday! It was a great day for a party...perhaps a little on the toasty side again! Did really phase the kids though.

Running Aces

Why didn't we do this sooner???

Such a fun night...we took Karen and Doug to the horse races at Running Aces in Forest Lake. We got dinner there; reserved a table outside; placed bets on horses and had so much fun. Sadly the kids got hooked on the betting...since it wasn't there money; and had a blast. It was toasty outside so maybe would have been nice to be out of the sun; but once the sun went down it was great. Definitely something we need to do again.

electric scooter

Today Rowan received the gift she bought with her birthday money!! A purple electric scooter. I only took videos of her using it...so need to get a picture to share! She has some work to do on learning how to turn safely and stay on the sidewalk.

K D and G

Karen and Doug are probably sick of us...but we are so thankful for them. They got Gizmo back from Grace (she watched him for us the whole week we were up north at her house in Oak Creek WI) and came up to visit us for the weekend to bring him home! So we had to celebrate Rowan's birthday one more time with a little Fiesta Cancun. Since it was a Thursday night we got to listen to the mariachi band too...so fun!!

Our baby girl is 9

Waking up a 9 year old is hard work!! Or maybe it's waking up the mother of a 9 year old...not sure. But I sure would like for time to slow down.
Especially when it is summer; and you have to go to the eye doctor and agree to have your eyes dilated...soon to realize it is nearly impossible to see your computer and finish your work day. Oh well. I made it through...to finish up this fun day celebrating Rowan!!
Rowan waited until the evening when Dad got home to open the rest of her birthday presents.
Before heading to her favorite restaurant for dinner!! Osaka!
And then home for official birthday dessert!! Eddie and I picked her out a few different cupcakes to switch it up this year! She had a hard time picking which one she liked best.
Rowan's stats:
4 feet 3.5 inches tall in the 39%
59 pounds in the 33%
BP 96/55 pulse 71

Currently she is on the Level 3 gymnastics team! She has 12 hours of practice a week this summer. 3 days a week for 4 hours a day. And she is more than we could ever ask for in a daughter and big sister. She is thoughtful, caring, loving, sassy and sweet. Can't wait to see what the future holds for our not so little girl anymore!

pre birthday fun

Started our Sunday with a movie...Despicable Me 3
Then when we were done with that...she couldn't wait any longer; so she opened a few more gifts. Aunt Julie and Uncle Dusty sent her something and then she got to the rest from Nana and Papa.

This is where we found dad for most of the afternoon...relaxing!
Kids played outside and found this friend in the road. He wasn't the most friendly though. A neighbor dad had to get a shovel and move this guy out of the middle of the road and hopefully guide him back to the pond. He was snapping like crazy at the shovel...but Cody was successful.
Why not have another ice cream treat when it's your birthday week...I have lost count of the number of dessert treats this birthday girl has had in the last week. Enjoy it while you can.
Apparently someone got ahold of the camera before bed tonight!!
Love her...last day as an 8 year old!
And we are all ready to celebrate her turning 9 tomorrow!!

Heading home...to celebrate some more.

Well after an awesome week at the lake in upper WI; it is time to head home. Packed up and on the road before 9am this morning. And apparently the sun and fun caught up with some of us.
We got home and unpacked the car...and checked out the creations from this week. Pre-wash, they look amazing...but washing them will fad them a bunch I am guessing. Great job kids!
When you arrive home on your birthday week and find packages...it's hard to wait a few more days to open them. Might as well keep the fun going today.
Gifts from Nana and Papa...she only opened one today!
Then we might as well finish off our vacation with some dessert at Cup and Cone!
These servings were huge! And delicious. And cost less than $10 all together!!
Now we have to head home and unpack and start the laundry....BOOOOOO....
