We rarely miss breakfast at Keys Café when we have family in town...so this morning that is where you found us all!
After breakfast Karen and Doug packed up to trek home to WI. Always sad to see our visitors go...but we will be back soon to see them again.Sunday, April 17, 2016

Hot Chocolate 5K and much more
Ed and I started or morning doing our first 5K together! Was a chilly start until we got moving! Was perfect weather in the end, and I am very proud of my husband. Only a few times did he get mad at me for pushing him too much...but we finished in 35:32! And we didn't walk until almost 2 miles in.
After the race we got hot chocolate and some chocolate fondue with dipping goodies. We didn't hang around long...we had a few errands to do before heading home, and Karen and Doug were busy spoiling our kids while we were away!
We headed home, had some lunch and then got ready to head to Eddie's hockey game!
Then we spent the afternoon enjoying the outdoors some more. In case they didn't get enough hockey inside already, had to get some more outside.
After dinner, we squeezed in some Pie Face. The kids had Karen playing this morning after breakfast, so she got some practice in. But it was still comical the second round. And they talked Doug into playing too!
The kids had Karen and Doug wiped out after the last day and a half of being outside and not stopping. They were ready for bed tonight, all of them!On a side note, my cousin and best friend welcomed her third child into the world this afternoon. Colter James! His 2 big sisters are pretty excited too!

Weekend visitors...
Eddie and I got to spend the afternoon with Karen and Doug who arrived right after lunch! We took a walk to the park with Gizmo!
Eddie showed off his climbing skills! Was a beautiful afternoon for the park.
Then we went home to relax and wait for Rowan to get home from school. We walked to school to meet Rowan and walk her home. Then we had some dinner and spent some more time outside. Played some hockey...Karen couldn't say no to Eddie. And some Yard Yahtzee too! So fun. And so tired.

before school and after
Pretty cute to catch this little girl getting her reading done before school so she can play with her friends outside after! She looks so studious in her glasses.
After dinner tonight, we headed to Total Hockey so Ed could look at new hockey gear. He said this is what he wanted/needed for his birthday...so my mom and his mom sent him money early so he could get use out of the new gear now! Eddie held his hat for him while he tried on helmets...Then he decided on new skates...that needed to be baked. So we had to wait for them to bake for 15 minutes, then he had to sit with them on for 10 more minutes! Fun night at Total Hockey! They didn't have the gloves he wanted, so they ordered them from a different location and we will pick them up in a couple days.

friend fun and popsicles!
The girls were begging to play after gymnastics last night...but it was too late, so we agreed we could play tonight! Eddie and I walked Rowan down to the Combs house and never left! Molly and I got to chat, the boys and girls all played, and then before you knew it we had to head home for dinner! So fun for all of us.

gymnastics update
Last week I decided to ask Rowan's instructor what class level I should be registering her for for summer...she is currently in Flips 3 (a recreational class). She said I should put her in Flips 4, and that they aren't really moving girls up right now because of the Spring Fling coming up in May. I then decided to ask if she thought she would be a candidate for a Flipshots class (an advanced class that they have to be asked to be in...) she said yes! So tonight she trialed a flipshots 2 class (with her same instructor from flips 3...and friend Brooklyn!)
Rowan did great in the trial class, so they said to put her in Flipshots 2 for the rest of the school year and then do Flipshots 3 for summer. After Flipshots 3...they can try out for team the following spring! Gymnastics may not end up being a forever thing for Rowan because of her height, but it'll be fun for her to be able to learn more faster now! She was there one day a week for an hour and 25 min...now FS 2 is once a week for 2 hours...but FS 3 will be twice a week for 2.5 hours each day.
