AuNt AmAnDa...

My sister Amanda was here to visit the last two days, on her Spring Break! No better vacation than Neenah! I think we gave her a good idea of what Neenah is like, although there was no sun! Therefore, we did a lot of shopping, in both Appleton and OshKosh! Amanda also got a good idea of what life is like with a toddler! Very unpredictable, I think it taught her to shop a lot faster!

Amanda brought us some tasty treats, that Rowan loved of course, but got very messy in the process! We are very glad that she came to visit! We hope she comes back soon!

Baking Cookies...

We made some cookies tonight, and had quite the little helper. She was good at tasting the different flavored chips, and washing her hands. Overall she did pretty well, despite the fact that we did it after dinner which is when she tends to get a bit crabby! We all survived!

Cheetos Puffs facial anyone?

Today at lunch, Rowan found it appropriate to wipe her Cheetos covered hands on her hair and face! Isn't that normal?
This is one instance, where the lack of hair comes in handy!
The top photo shows off Rowan's 2 newest teeth on the bottom! Excuse the fuzzy picture. It was too cute to not post!

First House project...

When I was at work on Friday night, Ed was busy completing his first project in the in house. We ordered these cabinets and countertop in order to build a computer desk in a much wasted area of the kitchen! We are now just awaiting our new chair to complete the area! We decided to invest in a wireless mouse and keyboard, otherwise a super cute almost 20 month old loves to climb up and type away!

Here is a before picture...
and after...

Excuse the random things laying around, we haven't really done any decorating in the kitchen yet. Nor have we decided where we will store things like my purse and the diaper bag!

Rowan, the Helper!

Yesterday, Ed decided to make Rowan her own step stool. Our plan was to get them from Ikea next time we were in the area, but we couldn't wait. Rowan always wants to climb on the chairs to be up where we are when we are in the kitchen or wherever, so Ed made a temporary one. But I think I am just going to have him make a couple more, it was cheaper than the Ikea ones, and I guess I can paint or stain them if I decide to!

So now Rowan thinks it is appropriate to eat her breakfast from her stool, and wash her hands constantly (you would never guess her mom is a nurse!)

Our dirt yard...

This is what we have to deal with all spring! Poor Gizmo! No actually, it is poor us! Gizmo has no problem running through the mud to come back in the house!

After yesterday, with serious paw washing everytime he went outside, I have now started taking Gizmo across the street to the open area, which has less mud surprisingly, to use the bathroom. Not as convenient having to put him on a leash and take him out, but much less clean up! Gonna be a long spring!

The builder has said that they won't come back until May sometime to spread that mound of dirt in the backyard, which means no grass until then! Probably a good thing financially, but that is the only perk about it!
See the wonderful surprises we are finding in the front yard as the snow melts!

Labor and Delivery, Here I Come...

No, I am not pregnant!

But I have accepted a new job, at Appleton Medical Center (AMC)!

Thursday I received a call with a job offer, part-time (0.6) 12 hour shifts (6a-6p/6p-6a), rotating days and nights. And I accepted.

I am very sad to leave my wonderful friends at St. Joe's, but a 1 hour 20 minute drive just doesn't make sense, nor is it safe after being awake for 24 hours! So, I have put in my resignation letter as of yesterday, and my last day at St. Joe's will be March 16th! I am not starting at AMC until March 29th, so will be taking a week off in between jobs! Plan to spend that week/weekend visiting our new nephew in MI, and maybe a few other short road trips, we will see.

I will be working full time through orientation, so I won't get to enjoy the part time life for a few more months. I am going to eventually be a Labor & Delivery nurse as well as proficient in their Level II nursery and Postpartum as well. I like to call it, the jack of all trades! It will make me more marketable in the future as well!
