Novi MI - 1st trip

Well, Ed and Eddie were off to MI Thursday for their first 5 game showcase. 

And then our world came tumbling down. 

Eddie's first shift of the first game, he suffered a broken collarbone. A kid skated into him just right, shoulder to shoulder and he was out for the game. 

Ed ended up leaving the bench shortly after the play and taking Eddie to Urgent Care where X-rays confirmed. He would be helping coach from the bench the rest of the weekend. 

Thankfully the boys stepped up in his absence, and went 4-1 on the weekend.

Saturday night the boys caught a USA Hockey VS MI Tech hockey game. Fun times.

Day games in Madison - two wins, a few goals and assists for Eddie. 

Sunday night he was invited to the NHL game at Fiserv Forum with Liam (teammate from MJA). They had a great time. 

Piper tried on her vest, ready to go for Fall and Winter. 

Eddie is trying to play Fortnite with a keyboard and mouse vs an Xbox controller - it's a learning curve for sure, but he keeps pushing ahead. 

Almost October

Weather sure has changed in the last week or so. Eddie and I got to golf last Saturday with Grandma and Grandpa. Started out chilly but then the sun came out a bit to warm us up. We did get in all 18 holes, and didn't do too shabby. 

Sunday was another day of games at Pettit - another IL team. Sadly a Loss and tie. Great games!

Piper had a rough week - she is grounded for pooping in the basement Wednesday night. She hasn't had an accident in a year I bet. Better be a one off, or she will be finding a crate again. 

Then last night, I was able to get together with Crystal and Desi for dinner at I.D. 

Great to catch up and support these ladies - it's been an emotional month or so for many. 

A win!

Another weekend of hockey vs IL teams. A win and a tie this time around. 

And 9th and 6th grade school pictures are in. Eddie with a goal this weekend!

Remembering Kathi

A few weeks back, we lost Kathi. She had some health issues, a few surgeries on her bowels, and in the end infection won. She didn't want anything formal, but her family ended up having a small gathering at Nips in Pewaukee (her family owned this bar back in the day). Ed and I had intentions of only stopping for an hour - but ended up staying the whole time and hanging out. Great to get together. 

September fun

Last weekend, we were invited to the Blawat residence to watch the Badger game. Eddie got to try out the 4 wheeler on the track in their yard. 

Sunday officially started Ed and Eddie's MJA season. They ended up with a loss and a tie on the day in IL. 

After surviving a week of work and school, we attended the KM home football game as a family so Ed and I could check it out. It as construction themed (thus the neon vest for Rowan). The end zone is where the high schoolers hang out. Thankfully away from the parents. We had our fair share after the 3rd quarter and headed home. KM did pull off a win.

We squeezed in a quick last minute family golf session of 9 holes before Fall. 

Took us many holes to find our groove, but we had fun in the end. 

Then it was off to celebrate a cute 5 year old. 

Crepe cake was Blake's choice, and Lizzy killed it.
