Finley's birthday and Erin retires

Our friends, Desi and Erin, have moved back to WI. They live 10 min from us, so we were able to join them for Finley's (their 6 y.o. daughter) birthday party. It was also a retirement party for Erin, he retired from the Coast Guard! So glad to have them back in WI. 

It was more like a puppy party...Desi and Erin just got a poodle puppy too; a few weeks older than Piper. 

Water slide was a hit.

This is essentially what Piper did the whole time we were there. It was humid out, so she found a shady spot and slept. 

We got to catch up with the Tetzlaff's and Grulke's too. Great day for a party.

Well, we are trying to get her to like her crate more. This is a nap in the crate during the day. At night, she hasn't done horrible, but we did have one night where she was whining and barking a lot. But for the most part she wakes up once a night, and we take her out, or lay by her crate and she goes back to sleep. 

She pooped in the house the second day home, right away in the morning. So now we are trying to be sure to get her to poop outside right in the morning. 

Found a new basket for her toys, and she thinks it's a toy. 

Otherwise, she eats fine. Going to try adding some raw meat into her diet because it is healthy. Her poop is mushier than I would like, but we will see how she does with kibble and raw food and go from there.

Teaching Piper to like the car...and not leave her in her crate on her second day home. So she joined Eddie and I for Rowan's hockey practice. We brought this bowl for her water...she was more interested in carrying in around. 

She can walk herself already, ha.

She is finally here! After 4 hours in the car...we are now a family of 5 again. 

Piper did just fine on her first car ride...a 2 hour drive home. No puking thankfully. She even survived being passed around among all of us. 

She is 5 pounds, eating Diamond Natural dry dog food. And has enough treats and toys to last a lifetime...already.

Blake is even giving her a chance...

Let's be honest...this time in her crate, was brief. But she let us put her in it...then she came back out.

And...it's official. We are all in with Lake Country Warhawks girls hockey this fall/winter. We have bought her all new gear and she is ready to go. Excited for the season and group of new friends. 

Ed, Peter, Mitch and Eddie went to the park to work on some hitting practice before Eddie has tryouts for travel baseball in a few days. Blake and Rowan tagged along to run some bases and play at the park. Aunt Megan got stuck picking them up when they were bored.
