another sign?

I had a dream last night that I delivered this baby. Somewhat unrealistic because the baby was definitely not a 25 weeker (probably full term), but it was...

A BOY!

Is it another sign? I have had 2 boy signs this pregnancy, remember back to the mail we got addressed to Edward WD Smith 4! Hmmm....

the advent wreath

Finally made an appearance tonight. We have been slacking a bit. We were insistent on having it by December 1st, but the days have been slipping by and it didn't get brought out. But tonight we made it happen. Was probably a good thing we waited a few days, Rowan wanted to keep putting things on it. It was tough stopping her at 6 things! It is now hanging with our stockings on the mantel! Hopefully we won't forget about it for another 6 days!

a surprise visit

FROM SANTA!

So, tonight we were doing whatever in the kitchen, and Ed heard a police siren, and we thought we saw lights on the street behind our house. Perhaps a fire or something. Forget about it. About 5 minutes later I hear the sirens and see lights in front of our house. Looks like a 'security' SUV, but behind it comes rolling a fire truck pulling a display of lights with a sleigh and SANTA! With a microphone saying 'Merry Christmas, Ho Ho Ho'! How exciting! Rowan barely saw him by the time we all got to the window. But we went outside and waited for him to make it around to the other street, and snapped a few pictures with the telephoto lens, not the best, but you get the idea! Rowan was super excited. She seems to be into Santa, but we haven't gotten up close and personal with him yet for a lap picture, we will see how that goes!

25 weeks

Finally, another doctor appointment. I haven't had an actual appointment in 8 weeks. So I was afraid to see the numbers!

Overall, not too bad! My blood pressure was fine, 104/58. Baby's heartrate was 144. I have gained 21 pounds total so far! The nurse was surprised, the doctor didn't say anything about it, so I am going to assume she is okay with it! I was just looking back to see what I had gained with Rowan's pregnancy at this point, and I wasn't disclosing that information apparently. I am probably right on track to my 40 pound total weight gain as I did with Rowan. I don't think I will gain more than 20 pounds in the next 15 weeks, but who knows I guess!

The doctor measured my fundal height, but didn't comment on it, so I will assume it is within normal limits! Got to drink the fabulous sugar drink and wait an hour to have my blood drawn to rule out gestational diabetes. And of course they didn't give me the results on that, so we will be calling in a couple of days if I don't hear anything. Otherwise, back for another 10 minute check up in 4 weeks. Then we will be onto the 2 week check ups, hard to believe.
Thank the office for their fish tank, or Rowan would have been bored silly. We wandered to the Gift Shop, but it was a rinky dink shop with not much to offer, so that didn't waste much time. And luckily women came in with babies and other kids, so Rowan was entertained by them too.

i heart painting

NOT!

Probably didn't help that not only were we painting walls, but the ceiling too! Wait I said we, I painted the ceiling, first coat on friday, second on Saturday while Ed was working, and we together painted the walls on Saturday afternoon. I know it is only a sneak peek of the colors and stripes, but the room isn't done, so I don't want to post entire room pictures yet. I have nothing for the walls, and we aren't completely reassembling the crib yet, in case Rowan needs to sleep in it again (when we have guests, they sleep in her bed, so she either sleeps with us or in the toddler bed/crib)

So this was essentially the extent of our weekend, painting, football, Ed worked Saturday, I was on call 8 hours on Sunday, and that was about it!
Oh, and then there was train conductor Rowan! Can you tell she wouldn't pose for a picture for me. I take what I can get sometimes!

choo choo...

Rowan was very excited once we set up the train! Hard to hear her over the train, but you get the idea!

A Message from Santa...

Rowan got a message from Santa today, pretty cute!
