We spent the night in Oconomowoc and took the shuttle responsibly to and from the venue in Wales.
Such a lovely and fun night with family.

that's a wrap

Wrapped up Christmas with Grandma and Grandpa Bremberger one day, and Karen and Doug the next. Just before New Years Eve!! Always a little something for everyone.

More Christmas fun

Smith Christmas at Nana and Papa's!

Nice day so kids could get outside a little, but otherwise normal shenanigans of nerf wars, gifts, lots of food, games, dogs, etc. And my 14 year old nephew is almost as tall as me - eek. Always fun getting the family together.
We had to take a break from the action for Rowan's game - where she showed up with a hat-trick.

Hudson even joined Rowan and Eddie on the ice the next day.
Never enough ice time.

Christmas in Green Bay!

Started the morning opening a few gifts - then we were on the road to spend the day in Green Bay. We did the sledding hill, skated, had lunch outside, and then bundled up to head into the Packer game.

Weather was balmy and great during the day, but once the sun went down, it started to get a bit chilly. But it could have been so much worse. Was a great game and experience for all.

heat wave

Another week, and the rink is melted and full of leaves. How rude!

I have been busy creating a few Christmas gifts.
Piper has been busy watching me work.
We were able to catch Blakes Christmas program at church - cute littles singing away. Luke was awful relaxed as a result of the singing.

Another weekend at an amazing rink for Ed and the boys.
Eddie asked me to make a cup with this saying - 'don't mess with mamasauraus, or you'll get jurasskicked' - turned out great.

Hockey pictures are in, wrong number and all. They had one jersey for all of the girls to wear and could get rid of the number apparently.

projects and besties

Barn doors are up in the basement
Piper is loving her new Nana creation!
Eddies buddies get drug to Rowan's game if they want to come hang out.
Rowan had a hat trick in her game today!

Cricut ornaments for both teams - turned out cute.
Eddie took another trip to the box. Keeping things exciting - so long as it doesn't cost us the game.

rink and MI

Lots of things accomplished this week.

Barn doors have arrived for basement theater room!

Boys had a successful weekend in MI playing at an awesome college rink.

More ice time for Row - got the tree up. Some outside winter decor.

Oh..and the Rink is up and ready. Kids already took advantage.

tourney time

Winter art - I recreated a super cute ceramic mug by adding a festive vinyl saying.
These will be gifted this season for my team at Humana. Piper was unphased by my art and napped right through in her winter jammies.

Rowan and the Valkyries had their first tournament of the season in Appleton.
They came away with second place.

We were busy watching Eddie's game from the hotel - but as you can see, I lost Rowan early on.

Team did some bowling in between. We had some fried food.

Thanksgiving and more

We had a low key Thanksgiving at home this week. Nana and Papa joined us for Turkey and Ham and more. We even had enough for leftovers the next day. Glorious club sandwiches.

Christmas shopping is well under way.
We were able to make it to a high school hockey game - Eddie was in his element with some hockey friends cheering on the older boys.

Rowan was chosen as a co-captain for the team - sporting the C for the season.

We finally have an outlet in the floor upstairs so we can get rid of extension cords.

And I was able to get a picture of the kids and Piper for our Christmas cards.
All in all a successful week!

progress and more

In the moment, the basement progress seems slow - but in the end it is flying. Doors are installed, trim is next, and then painting it all.

Eddie ripped out another tooth.

Visitors in the yard - chicken wings - snapchat filters, and Valkyries hockey.
Rowan with a goal too!

hockey is life

Our kids are so lucky to have family willing to come watch them play.

My cousin Jessie came to watch Eddie when we were in IL last weekend.
Blake and Luke came to watch him at home the following weekend.

Rowan got her jerseys...only there is something wrong. She is supposed to be #9.
There is constantly sticks being taped or skates being sharpened in this house. A day in the life.

Can't forget a recently groomed Piper and a night out at Mazatlan.

Halloween lives on

Why wouldn't kids hit up an extra Trick or Treat if they could?? Our walrus and Elephant joined the Parson's crew in their neighborhood and finished up in our neighborhood. Clean sweep.
Piper showed up cute and sweet in her Twiggy borrowed costume.

More hockey for the girls.

Tried out making a pumpkin roll (recipe courtesy of a co-worker)

And we have insane progress in the basement. Door and trim next on the calendar.
Ed has been busy working on the barn metal he got for a steal on Facebook Marketplace. Looks amazing!!
Fireplace has been installed, walls textured, I painted the whole basement. We have had a busy month.

Freaky fast month

Hard to believe we are already in the last few weeks of October and November is right around the corner.

Rowan went to Fright Fest with the 8th graders, sadly the weather was cold and rainy but she still managed to get in many rollercoasters and made it home safe.

Piper sporting her Halloween pj's with our Fall spread. (and sleeping on the job again)

Rowan's first games - she rocked it.

Eddie was at it again - hanging with crew on and off the ice. They were at Bob Super arena!

We managed to make it a little late to Amanda and Peter's annual Trick or Treat. Complete with pizza, beers and a bonfire. Blake and Luke were well on their way by the time we joined. It was chilly but there was candy success.

cold is upon us

A few different happenings in the last week...rubiks cube obsession.
Sin bin...
Pumpkin patch (requiring winter hats)
dog sitting, complete with cold walks.
Rowan and the girls headed to a haunted house.
Always something fun and exciting.

October Is here

We started out the month finally laying my Grandma Goldie and Grandpa Darrell to rest.
Well overdue.

Looks like we are finally going to have neighbors!

Hudson came to see Eddie play when we were in IL this weekend.
Spotted an awesome rainbow - and then celebrated Girls Hockey. Smith family even won an gift certificate - we had a lucky weekend I guess.

September wrap up

Fall is here and we are playing catch up.

Finally got over to HAWS to donate Rowan's birthday party donations.
Row was on the ice for Tryout #1 for Valkyries.
Nevermind the fact that we don't have flooring in the basement, we have a couch and projector screen!

Kids are begging to help mow the lawn - take advantage when Ed can get over imperfect lines.
Warming up the zamoboni for the winter.

And a game in IL, Grandpa Kris joined us for the fun!!

Piper is all ready for Packer season.

Smiths take on St. Louis

When in St. Louis for hockey - visit the museum.
Very entertaining and fun (would have been better without masks - but such is Covid)
Of course, it was 90 degrees outside, so the outdoor time was limited, but still entertaining.
Four game showcase in St. Louis - complete with 4 wins. Makes for an exhausted kiddo.
Plus all of the boy shenanigans in between - leads to an exhausting but fun weekend.
Sadly we didn't schedule the Arch visit early enough and it wasn't an option, but we did get a picture from the road on our way out of town.

weekend finale

We found some friends out on the lake this last official weekend of summer. School has started, hockey has started, new haircuts, great sunsets, bring on Fall.

Summer wrap up

We are ending the summer with a bang.

Ready for MJA season to begin, complete with new skates. Ed and I were able to get to the Butler Inn to use a gift card and finally celebrate our 15th anniversary.

We also had our nephews, Blake and Luke overnight to help out - and they kept us busy. We played hockey, we walked to the park, we had lake time. Eddie managed to pull out a tooth too.
Then we started school - 8th grade and 5th grade. A fun new meal full of color, the kids attempted to help with some painting - and Rowan hit the ice again with the girls and the Valkyries. I even hit up the eye MD for a clean bill of health. Dilated eyes and all.

Easton Cup Champs

Always a great weekend when you bring home some hardware.

Great weekend of hockey leading into the start of MJA Season!

This is 15 years!

Ed and I celebrated 15 years of marriage - but honestly seems to be just another day some weeks.

Rowan found her locker this week - starting 8th grade very soon.

We were on the road in preparation for a hockey tournament - left a little early so we could stop and visit Grandma and Grandpa on the way. Spent the night with them then on the road to MN the next morning. Got in a walk, some cards and even guitar practice (ears were bleeding).

First night in the hotel was a success, quick swim, and of course new gear was needed - what better place to do that shopping than in MN. State of Hockey!
