Weekend recap

Piper is a Packer fan too!
Tonight the kids skated at Eble for a 4 week Sunday night program through PrymeTyme Hockey. One of not many times they can be on the ice together....until the backyard rink of course.
Piper gets to join anyone anywhere these days. She isn't opposed to a comfy relaxation session on someones bed.

bath time!

Today, we took the boat off of the lake for the season; washed and vacuumed it. While we were doing that, Piper was tied up in the yard, and decided to dig and play in the mulch and landscaping, therefore she had lots of things in her fur, that didn't belong.

This is her 3rd bath at home, so we finally got a picture of her.

She looks like a drown rat when she is wet, poor thing. She fluffs right back up though when dry.
She looks pitiful, but the number of treats she gets, makes it worth it I am sure.

quarantine round 1

Well, I got a call from Cushing Elementary yesterday at 2:30pm, that Eddie has been exposed to a positive case in his class, therefore the whole class will be going virtual for the next 14 days. And he can't take the bus home, so he needs to be picked up in 20 minutes from school.

This started the work of figuring out where and how we could get him tested so that he could continue to attend hockey practice and potentially still go to Nashville for his hockey tournament next week.

We ended up doing a virtual visit through Froedtert that evening and had a test scheduled for Friday at 9:35 am in New Berlin at the Mooreland Reserve. We had to tell them that he has been exposed to high risk family and that is why he needed to be tested. Which wasn't 100% a lie but maybe a little fib, or else they wouldn't have agreed to test him.

The process of testing was seamless, there was a number to call to be checked in when we arrived, we were the only car there, we pulled in a tent, they swabbed his nose through the car window, and we were done. Piper even got a dog treat, and Eddie a sucker, and then we were on our way home.

We had test results by 11pm, which were NEGATIVE!
So now, as long as he remains asymptomatic until next Wednesday...we plan to head to Nashville.
He will be doing virtual school through October 5th, returning to school the 6th.

So cute when she poses for the camera...
When she isn't playing...she is exhausted and sleeping.

MJA 2010 at Pettit vs CYA

Today, the boys played Chicago Young Americans in their second set of home games.

They tied the first game, and won the second game.
I was in charge of the penalty box...so got a front row seat.
I believe, he was specifically told not to visit his Mom in the penalty box...but he didn't follow the rules. Would have rather had a goal...but instead he got a silly call by the ref. Oh well.

15 weeks old

Mom finally gave me a kong with peanut butter in it...pretty sure she didn't fill it full, but better than empty.
Chillaxin' on the patio soaking up the fall sun.
Kind of surprised that Mom gave me anything nice this weekend, because I pooped in my crate this morning (first time ever) and therefore needed a bath. Pretty sure I am not on her nice list.

Today was the MJA 2010's first home games. They played the Madison Capitals in a double header, and sadly lost both games. Eddie had a goal and an assist though! No photos to share today, because no one is able to watch games at the Pettit right now...unless it is your turn to work the penalty box, scoresheet or clock. Tomorrow I get to work the penalty box, so will get to see 1/4 games this weekend.

major upgrade!

We did an unexpected thing today...bought a new truck!

Ed has been researching and looking online for months, through out COVID, because they have had some good deals. But we have been saying we will wait until the Infiniti needs a costly repair, before giving in. Well, now they are deeply discounting the few 2020's left on the lot, so we got a decent deal on this Yukon XL Denali! I had plans of doing some grocery shopping and Costco; but instead, Ed called and said, meet me at the dealership in Menomonee Falls with the car title! So we spent our afternoon at the dealership.
It's Sapphire Blue with brown/tan leather interior, super sharp looking!

remembering...

Today, we spent the day remembering a man lost far too soon.

My Uncle Brad, passed away very unexpectedly about 10 days ago, and today, many many people came to remember him at Pewaukee High School. Afterwards, we celebrated his life back at the farm.

These cuties helps hand out ice cream.
The high school was a perfect venue to this big event. Plenty of room for all, ability to socially distance, and celebrate a wonderful man.
Was able to catch the entire ice cream crew!
RIP Uncle Brad, you will forever be missed.

1st 2010 MJA games

Day trip to Appleton to play against the Green Bay Jr. Gamblers.

Sadly we took away two losses, but this was the first time the boys played together, and they were up against a team that gets half of their players from MN teams. Eddie played with one of them when we lived in MN, Braden Bois.
Eddie had a goal and an assist on the weekend.
Favorite fans.
All geared up!

Piper had her first day away from us...with Karen and Doug! And they all did great! NO accidents, and they offered to take her again. Win Win.

Blake is 3!

We got to spend the evening celebrating this cute little boy.

Birthday parties are looking very different this year if and when they are even happening. So, no joint family parties. Which was quite nice honestly!!
After dinner we even had a bonfire! S'mores and all!
