last few days

So relieved that with some heat and antibiotics, this arm situation seems to have turned the corner. It drained some puss, and seems to be healing now.
Crazy kids...supposed to be virtually learning but taking selfies on their chrome books.
Trying some new facial masks during quarantine. Yikes!
And...headphones ready to go to play Xbox (Rocket League) with Hudson and Uncle Dusty.

follow up irritation

Well, I sent a message to the nurse this am with this picture. There hasn't been hardly any improvement in 48+ hours. They ended up calling and saying that they recommend I bring him in. They might want to drain it and culture to determine if the antibiotics he is on are adequate. So, 4pm visit in New Berlin, because the Delafield clinic isn't open d/t COVID.
So we drive 27 minutes to New Berlin...
Masks all around, questions about COVID exposure, etc...
For the MD to do NOTHING. They decided not to drain it...afraid to cause more damage should they get nothing out. And she thought it looked better in the picture from Friday to today (I disagreed). And she isn't sure they would be able to drain in the clinic anyway, might have to go to ER if they decide it needs to be done. So, unless the redness spreads again, he develops a fever, etc, we are to continue on the abx for the week and follow it. This Mama was not happy walking out of that office. I drove almost 30 min one way, for them to look at it for 2 min and do nothing. We will have to pay towards our deductible for NOTHING. So annoyed...oh and don't forget we went in public and potentially exposed ourselves to COVID for nothing also.

weekend vibes

Pretty great weekend here in WI. Another weekend of things done around the house, inside and out.

Another fire Saturday night...perfect for it.
Beautiful sunset for fire and some yard football.
24 hours of antibiotics later...not much change. But applying a warm compress a few times a day and will keep following it.
Sunday dinner...kabobs that were delish. Lots of zoom hours with family this weekend. Trying to keep in touch.

first video md visit

Earlier this week, Eddie noticed he had a bite looking mark on his arm. By Wednesday, it was red out to the circle drawn on his arm. Today, Friday, it is improved, but still very red, painful and raised. So I messaged the MD office and called and they recommended doing a video visit with the MD.
The MD ended up ordering some antibiotics because the center of the spot looks like there is puss under the skin. So we will start with that for a week and if it isn't improved in a few days, get back with the MD.

After picking up the antibiotics, we had a virtual happy hour with our friends Chris and Kelly. We chatted for a couple hours and caught up. Much needed.

new blades

Eddie used some birthday money to pay half for a new pair of rollerblades. We went to nice Bauer ones this time. He loves them. Best way to keep up his skating stills when you can't be on the ice.
New Yeti's for Ed and I. Why do they have to keep creating things I like better.

home sweet home

Kids have been learning Cat's Cradle!

Lots of rip sticking, rollerblading, scooters, bikes, you name it, and family walks. Good for the should at least...and the step count.
Friday night fires...and s'mores.
Saturday trip to Walmart looks like this now...Masks by Nana.
Ed also took a trip to Home Depot and sported his mask.
When at Walmart, pick up new Corona Seltzer...and like this pandemic, disappointed us. Not a fan, so the smiles are deceiving for sure. We will stick to our WhiteClaws.
Smith zoom with Eddie's entertainment! #speakout
another one bites the dust...this was the worst puzzle we have done in awhile.
Ed saved me on it for sure.

positive thinking...

Thankful for Zoom...we have been able to connect with family and friends while being Safe at Home. Eddie chatted with his buddy Patrick from school today!
Eddie and Rowan created a person out of kitchen items for Eddie's art this week. They did great!
And...trying to think Summer, had to send pictures of boat to Skipper Bud's today to color match lettering for our WI registration. Finally decided to graduate this year! (took advantage of our MN registration that wasn't expired last summer!)

always something...

...Fattening in this house lately...we are coming out of this pandemic a few pounds heavier thanks to Rowan's new love of baking.
Finally got out for a walk right before dark tonight, every time I thought about going out it was snowing. Nothing new here in April in WI.

Happy Easter, quarantine style

We actually did something with ourselves today...and got dressed!

Nothing like a Sunday fire...while we FaceTimed with family for Easter!
One major pro to this quarantine life we are living...more time together. While we want to kill each other often these days, we try to remember how blessed and lucky we all are.
to help us remember this abnormal time in our life...masks for all.
