virtual day 1 for IV

Eddie was lucky enough to not have to participate in virtual learning two weeks ago, then last week was Spring break...so today was the day. He has certain subjects and tasks to complete each day. Today they did a Google Hangout with Mrs. Hill. Eddie was very chatty, definitely missing his classmates.
Eddie's Art project for today...color wheel out of family goods. We did a pretty good job!
Last Friday, they came and poured the concrete for our basketball hoop. We had to cover it up right away because it rained Friday night and Saturday. So finally uncovered it today. Hoop to be installed this week some time.

spring break...

Well, week two of quarantine was supposed to be spring break....but sadly it was nothing like it. The kids did keep busy while I worked, but we couldn't do anything in the evening...so we had nightly game night. Sadly I didn't even take any pictures this week. And by the end of the week a state wide order was given out that all non-essential businesses must close.

Last Friday, we did support Nashotah Clubhouse and ordered out dinner Friday night. It was the first night of take out/curbside pick up for these restaurants were ordered to close...and it was a little rough. Took 1.5 Hours to get our food, but it was fresh and hot by the time it was ready. It was frustrating at the time, because we all went along to get it (to get out of the house) and only Ed went in to pick it up...so we sat in the car for 30+ minutes...but we supported and will think ahead better next time.

And then our Spring break ended with a sickness. Started Thursday night at 10pm...Eddie was up itching and with a stomachache. He was up 2 more times during the night, finally I let him shower at 430am...by 8am he had puked once. The itching came back, on and off, throughout the day...by 3pm he was in tears and writhing (after taking a bath)...so I called the doctor, and they recommended Zyrtec. The rash and hives are more than likely something viral that is also causing the stomach problems. An hour after taking the Zyrtec he was in a much better place.
He attempted to eat a potato for dinner, that didn't stay down....the against our advice, he ate a cookie. That also came back up...so this is what his night looked like. He was in bed around 8pm and thankfully had an uneventful 12 hours of sleep. Today...his rash/hives are gone...and his stomachache is improved...he had some pains after breakfast but once that subsided...he has been better. So hopefully we are in the clear.

weekend shenanigans

Gymnastics is now also closed as of Monday March 16th, so we are taking advice of the coaches with ways to keep the girls strong and working out. Ed ran to Home Depot today to buy the necessary items to built Rowan a pull up, leg lift bar in the basement.

Yesterday morning we spent the first half of the day cleaning the house top to bottom. So now today we are onto some new projects and then games.
Missing our MN friends and thinking of them while drinking MN brewed beer and using a MN born bottle opener too.

coincidence??

Once social distancing and closures began...people starting hoarding household items with fear of being stuck in their homes without certain things...well toilet paper was one of the items to disappear off shelves.

For work, we are doing a virtual volunteer project where we make greeting cards for Savannah's Cards for Kids...and Rowan and Eddie made a few cards with the assistance of Art Hub drawing...Eddie made this card today. I found it awfully ironic because we haven't even really talked about the lack of TP these days.

Happy 9th Birthday Eddie!

This is what 9 looks like!
Donuts and presents...

Then..he got to go to a friends birthday party...so was able to hang out with some friends. Hard to get boys to stop skating to take a picture...so only was able to get one of Reece and Eddie.
Took Eddie out to Revere's for dinner tonight after Ed's hockey game...where he had 4 goals and a penalty too.
Eddie was able to choose a dessert...mint brownie was delish. Too bad we were all stuffed and couldn't even finish it between the 4 of us.

game time

Speak out fun...so funny!
Corona Virus is taking over the world...aka COVID-19. Closings coming in the near future. Too bad Corona is one of my favorite beers.

Corona Virus shutdown

We found out today, towards the end of the day, that starting Monday, they kids will be virtually taught because of COVID-19. Monday will be a free day while the teachers meet and figure out how this will work...but then Tuesday, 6+ grade will be expected to engage in virtual learning. The elementary kids have enough time built into the year that they can take T-F off of school with no repercussions. This is more than likely just the beginning of social distancing...stay tuned. Thankfully I work from home, so this shouldn't affect us too bad. But time will tell.

crazy hair day

This was all Eddie's idea...but he is ready to go.
Bus driver liked his the best of everyone today.

the sun is glorious

Nice that the kids can get out and play in some reasonably warm weather!
And thankful they finally have friends next door...might not be a boy Eddie's age, but he doesn't seem to care too much.

that's a wrap...on mite hockey

Today was our last game for Warhawks Red 2...and we got stood up. Elmbrook didn't show up. So a few kids from the other red teams stayed to play with us, and the boys scrimmaged and played 3 vs 3. Felt bad since our families all showed up to watch...but they didn't mind.
Luke was pretty into the hockey stick...watch out, Stoudt boys will be on skates before we know it.

American Cup 2020

Today, Rowan and I attended the American Cup Gymnastics meet at the Fiserv Forum! It was a very interesting experience. 12 gymnasts, 1-2 from different countries.
The 2 Americans took 1st and 2nd.
Morgan Hurd and Kayla DiCello
After the meet (we drove Kylie and Jackie to the meet), we picked up Eddie from Nana and Papa's house (Ed went to IL to shoot with Dusty for the day/overnight)...we headed to the Girl's post season basketball game. KM vs. Oconomowoc. Sadly, KM lost.
