Vacation take me away!

It's official, vacation mode time. Tuesday night we got Uncle Julio's for dinner before heading to IL to spend the night before flying out of O'Hare at 7am Wednesday. 

 Trip down to IL was uneventful. We were able to park in the structure for the week while we are gone. We were literally just here to sleep.

And before we knew it, the alarm was going off at 4am...and we were shuttling to the airport. To sit and wait. 

 Kids did really well on the flight. Watched a movie, played games...last hour got a little long...but overall not many complaints. We had enough to eat and do thankfully.

We made it to Punta Cana. On the shuttle headed to the resort. 

Now Onyx All Inclusive.

One thing the kids didn't do on the flight was sleep much...so Rowan passed out on the shuttle ride.

45 min later and we were at the resort. Ushered into the preferred lounge, first dibs on drinks and snacks and check in complete.

 Of course we changed right away and were off exploring. Boys played a quick chess game. Then we were back to our swim up pool room to swim.

 Then it was time to shower and get ready for dinner and the last surprise. We headed to a preferred lounge for a pre-dinner drink...and ran into this cutie. (and his parents too). Dusty, Julie and Hudson joined us for the trip! They arrived a little later than us so we were able to surprise the kids with them.

 Off to our first dinner. Italian! Pasta was great! Kids didn't seem to complain. 

 Wasn't a late night for any of use since we were all up very early today. Bring on day 1 tomorrow!!
