Kalahari Meet time

The other reason I took off Friday this week was because we weren't sure when Rowan would compete in her meet this weekend, so had to be prepared for a Friday time slot. Thankfully they don't compete until Saturday morning...but when the kids got home from school, Rowan and I headed to Grandpa Bill and Grandma Pam's house. Spent the evening and night with them and then headed over to the Kalahari in the am for an 8am start time. Of course it snowed overnight, so roads were a little questionable this morning, so thankful for the 15 min drive versus 1.5 hour plus.

Girls are here and ready on time.
MWT level 4's are ready to go
Rowan rocked this meet and took home 1st place AA for her age group for the first time ever. Ed was so upset that he wasn't here to see it.
Floor 8.775, Vault 8.45, Bars 9.125, Beam 9.050 AA 35.4
Grandma and Grandpa got to see this meet. Great meet to be at for sure.
The team also took first place!!
The text you get from your Dad when he is at home and you took 1st place!
Since our meet was over by 1130am, we were able to grab lunch and spend the afternoon/evening with the team in the waterpark and arcade. Rowan had a blast.
We spent the night (in a King suite)...just the two of us. Don't even get me started on the room situation...apparently it was all that was left when I called to book the room. So I had a huge expensive room for two of us. Waited ALL day, had to come and ask at 4pm when I still wasn't alerted of my room being ready...took 4 people and a manager to answer my questions...wasn't happy.

But we were up and on the road home Sunday in time to meet the hockey family group out for breakfast after Eddies game.

Apparently a week off of hockey...you forget how to put breezers on...Backwards Eddie! Yikes.

the aftermath

Got the kids off to school this morning...Ed went into work late also. I am so thankful I took today and tomorrow off of work. Because this is what I get to do all day...in addition to some grocery shopping.

Can't believe it's the last day

Once again, beautiful day, so making the best of our last several hours. Thankfully we have until after lunch to enjoy.

So we started in the ocean...

Then moved to the main pool...
Someone had a rough night...two nights ago, which resulted in some broken blood vessels.
You would think he would learn...insert eye roll.
Then we made a trip back to the beach for the foam party! Such a weird feeling, wet sandy soap.
The beach bar had a new flavored drink, so had to try it before we left.
Rinsed off in the outdoor shower and finished off in the main pool.

Then we headed back to our room for one last swim in the pool right off our room before showering and packing up to head home.
Yes, that is a bar right across from our room. Is a preferred club bar, so was never busy.
Can't believe our vacation is over. When we originally booked our flights, we were arriving in Chicago at 9pm...well that changed before we left and we now land in Chicago at 1130pm...and we plan for the kids to go to school tomorrow. So wish us luck.
Last vacation picture...with our butler, Zorro.
He was great...he scheduled our dinners every night, delivered items to our room when needed and checked up on us daily. He was responsible for my birthday surprises too. Very nice to have a go to person the whole trip.
The flight home sure seemed longer...kids had a very hard time getting comfortable to sleep. Since our flight didn't leave until 8pm, they were missing valuable sleep time, so they did their best to sleep on the flight. They also got some ZZZ's in the car ride from Chicago to home. We rolled into our house about 2am. And off to bed they went.
Until next time Punta Cana and Now Onyx.
