upcycling

Amanda asked me to put some of my personal touches on these jars she received as a gift and would like to incorporate into her wedding a bit better. So, here they are. A bit more rustic!

who's bed?

It's totally normal to watch hockey from Gizmo's bed, right? I guess since Gizmo doesn't use it much, someone might as well. Silly kid.

muffler

A late birthday present arrived for Eddie today...a muffler for his bike. His cousins have these on their bikes, so we finally found one for Eddie. Pretty cool and also quite annoying. Total boy thing!

Happy Easter 2016

The beginning of a busy day on our road to home after a fun filled weekend in WI. Managed to get a quick family picture on this Easter morning!
Easter 2016
Always sad saying goodbye to our cousins! Until next time...hopefully it's before Christmas!
We were all on the road to our next destination before 10am this morning! We were off to visit with Grandma and Grandpa Knutson and family! They had eggs sprinkled all over the yard before we arrived. Busy bunny this year!
Eddie and Grandpa Kris
It was a short visit as we were on the road to home by noon...of course had to stop and get Gizmo from Karen and Doug on our way out of town. Gizmo was happy to see his sissy again.
Was a fairly uneventful drive home...had to unpack way too many Easter goodies! And they had their Wubble balls blown up first thing after walking in the door.
Our cozy ride home!

Waterpark fun with Family!

The kids started their morning in the arcade with Papa...winning lots of great treasures!
 One of Eddie's silly wins!
Then it was on to the slides and water for fun! So fun getting these kids together.
We played in the water until just after lunch time...then the kids were done! And probably more so the parents were done! So we packed up and headed over to Nana and Papa's house for some Egg Hunt fun, dinner, birthday celebrations, pie face, cards, drinks and more! So fun. The weather was awesome for an outdoor egg hunt too!

Here are the cousins with their loot! The kids were able to trade in black jelly bean filled eggs for dollars from Papa! Cute little twist!
The oldies...Kieran 8 and Rowan 7! 2nd graders!
Eddie and some more 5th birthday gifts!
The birthday boys we celebrated today...Madden, Grady and Eddie!
Hudson approved of the cupcakes for sure!

next stop...

We were up and on the road again this morning...heading for Delafield/Pewaukee. We had to go to Pewaukee to drop off Gizmo! Karen and Doug were thrilled to watch him for the weekend. And they also had eggs and baskets for the kids to find...SPOILED.
After this quick visit, we were off to lunch at the Delafield Brewhaus with Nana and Papa.
After that, we finally got to check into Country Springs Hotel and hit the waterpark.

Here they are...ready to swim!
After a couple hours in the water...we took a break and waited for the rest of the family to arrive.
Ate a later dinner of pizza and snacks with the cousins when they arrived...then hit up the waterpark again before bed.
The kids had a blast...for the short time we had before bed. It will resume tomorrow!

on the road...

...to Lyndon Station. And the Easter fun has begun...and birthday fun continues.

The kids had eggs to find...and baskets too.

And this hockey kid was thrilled to get his outdoor goalie stick and red wings hat too.

play dates all around

This morning, Rowan went to her friend Avery's house to play for a couple hours, then she came here for a bit (no pictures apparently). Then this afternoon, Eddie's friend Asher came over to play for a few hours.

Here's the thing about Asher coming to play...he isn't comfortable with his parents leaving him here alone...so his dad stays with him! Which is semi awkward for me! Usually play dates are time for me to get stuff done, but this is the second time Asher and his dad have some over and I have to entertain his dad...which is fine to a point. Today, they knew we had to leave for gymnastics...and I literally almost had to push them out the door so we could leave. To add more awkwardness to the day...his dad brought his own beer with him! Apparently he had a cooler in his truck, but brought one in in his sweatshirt pocket. He did ask me if it was ok if he had it, which I was fine with, thinking it was just one and they wouldn't be here very long. Three trips to his car later, and three hours later, he probably have a 6 pack before they left. Weird. This is a 5 year old play date...and you are driving your son home. Anyway...I thought they were fairly normal prior to this playdate...but I it will be awhile before they are invited over again. Sorry had to document this visit.

weekend nail prep

Rowan and I went to get pampered a bit before our weekend at the waterpark! Just a pedicure for me...but both hands and fingers painted for Rowan.

SB day 2

We started out the day with open skate and White Bear Sports Center...
They even made Mom skate! We had fun!
Then why not use a free Culver's ice cream coupon after ice skating.
After lunch we decided to dye some eggs...running out of time before Easter!
Rowan gave 2 thumbs up to Nora (our old hair dresser from Delafield)...who had her 3rd little girl, and named her Rowan!
Our eggs finished products! Pretty proud!

Spring break begins...

Since I have had to remove everything from the walls to paint...it's time to retire some of the kids artwork! Rowan had her star of the week day a couple weeks ago, so here is her poster!
And Eddie's many pieces of art from school.
And today we were out returning décor items and doing a little shopping, so I treated these two to lunch at Buffalo Wild Wings! Not a bad day!

Painting is complete!

I finished painting today at noon! Was able to get some new curtains yesterday when Rowan was at her birthday party...hard to get a picture of them with all the light coming in! But they are perfect. Pulls in the tan from our blinds and carpet, and the grey walls now.
Working on picking out new rugs and artwork for the walls...started with rugs.
