Another Spring win

It's May - aka Nurses Month. So I have been busy making something for my team. Jean (my co-manager) paint poured coasters, and I applied vinyl monograms and clear coat. We combined that with a Starbucks gift card and little note of thanks. Treated myself to a pedicure to get ready for Spring too!

May 2nd - finally got Rowan off her butt and on the elliptical to start getting back into ice/game shape
May 4th - On the road again. Back to MN - tournament time.
We stayed in Bloomington right by the Mall of America. So we visited for some food a few times.
Hit up the pool...
When Dad adds pickles to your Jimmy Johns sub...but actually orders a full size pickle.
Winner Winner Chicken dinner for the weekend.

dentist to root canal

Well, over the weekend I was able to get a Monday morning dentist appointment for Rowan at our dentist. He did all of this testing on a couple of teeth and couldn't 100% confirm which one was the problem, so he referred us to an endodontist. Initially we had a late afternoon appt but then ended up being a cancellation so we could head right over to the next appt.

Low and behold - they determined she needed a root canal. And before we knew it, it was done.
The post root canal X-ray showed they may have missed a root, so we would have to come back in a week for a scan to determine. They numbed her a lot, but she was writhing during the procedure, and it was killing me as a parent. But we all survived.

check up and IL

Finally time for her 4 week follow up appt.
While the appointment was good, there is great healing - Rowan was not happy with the recommendation to continue wearing the sling for 2 more weeks (while at school/public). It wasn't mandatory, but the break was a bit worse than expected, so a little more time in the sling wouldn't hurt. Rowan was not having it.

Another weekend on the road, to IL this time.
A few positives - Dusty, Julie and Hudson were able to join us for a game. And Rowan's team was also playing in IL, so we made it to one of their games. Row joined them on the bench. Boys had some fun swimming and hanging out, as usual.

One other bump in the road this weekend, as we were driving down Friday - Rowan shared with us that she had extreme mouth/tooth pain. I ended up getting her into a dentist near the rink for evaluation. They claimed that her wisdom teeth were affecting her molars, and that was the culprit. They also mentioned she may have a broken filling, but didn't recommend any immediate action. So we medicated her and decided to follow up when back home.

off to MN, home as champs

Starting the weekend with war wounds from baseball this week.

On our way to MN, we stopped in Lyndon Station for a quick visit with Grandma and Grandpa.
Great weather to get out for a stretch. But then it was back on the road to make it to MN timely.

In addition to some hockey - we found time for a visit to Top Golf (a first for this family) for Caden's birthday. Weather was warm and sunny on Friday. Saturday was a bit more questionable for Top Golf, but we survived.
Sunday we ran into snow on the way home. Only in the Midwest.
But at least we came home Champions!
And we have cool travel bags!

It's April, and Easter

This is teen life, baseball starting - the girl taking selfies on Mom's phone.
Our last pile of snow - hopefully for the season.
And better late than never, coloring Easter eggs.
Just in time for Easter!
Started the morning at home with a mini egg hunt and baskets.
Then lunch at Grandpa and Grandma's - complete with a way better egg hunt outside.
