And we love visitors...especially cute ones!

 

Kids were playing with Maddy when our IL family arrived...so why not have some snacks together.

And why not make Uncle Dusty play some Mario Kart!

Uncle Ed had to show off his boat...and Hudson was a fan!

Hudson enjoyed drinking his chocolate milk in the boat...

And big mistake to start Hudson with the Mario Kart...he was obsessed quickly, even if he wasn't really playing.

He was an intense player

Tried to tire the kids out with a walk to the park...And when nature calls I guess...

Eddie got to skate with the current 2010-2011 AAA team through MG...he is trying out for the 2011-2012 team for spring but we will be out of town the weekend of tryouts! So the coach said he could come skate with the current team and be evaluated. He loved it...practice and games for the season won't start until March...we will wait and see after tryouts happen if he makes the team!

She chopped her hair today...

But confirmed it still fits in a pony!!

And then my new set of chairs came damaged...boo! Set of 4 chairs...Thanksfully Wayfair's customer service was great to deal with. I sent them a picture of what was wrong....they said I could donate them and they would send me 4 new ones.

Today we spent the rainy day at the movie theatre checking out the Emoji movie.

more eyes...

Today the kids had their annual eye appointments...and Eddie will be joining the glasses crew!

Rowan has had glasses for a couple years now...and last year her eyes changes a little; and it costs the same to get new glasses as just getting new lenses with insurance. Early on in Eddie's appointment the doctor was saying he would need glasses, by the end of the appointment and dilation, he needs them full time. So his are significantly worse than Rowan's as she only needs them for reading and school work.

They gave Eddie these nice shades for dealing with dilated eyes in the sun.

I can't forget the drama of getting to the eye doctor...Ed took the Explorer this morning because he went out fishing...and we forgot about the key fob for the car not working on my set of keys. And I hadn't taken the time to figure out how to start the car without it...so I had to borrow my neighbor Barb's car to get to the eye doctor. And of course I didn't realize this until 10 min before our appointment; so had a bit of a freak out moment. But all was well.

 

 So then this afternoon we headed out on the boat to enjoy the sun after Eddie's eyes weren't huge.

Tonight we were invited over to the Autrey's house to visit for a bit after Brooklyn's birthday parties; the kids got to try out the water slide...it was freezing. Eddie didn't even want to try it.

Anniversary dinner

Tonight we had Kayla babysit one last time before she heads off to college. The kids got to enjoy time with her and Ed and I got to get some dinner in peace and quiet as well as a trip to Cup and Cone!!

Kayla has been so good to us and the kids. So sad she will be out of town for school!
The kids took advantage of her not so stellar Mario kart skills.

We couldn't find Gizmo at one point...he was busy being uncomfortable in Rowan's room.

Great Aunt Karen and Great Uncle Doug sending unnecessary gifts again...New outfit and some money too for back to school clothes shopping! Will see how long that money lasts in their wallets before they beg to go shopping. These kids love shoes just like their Momma.
