Busy Christmas week

We started our Christmas celebrations on 12/22-12/23 with The Smiths, at our house this year (due to Nana and Papa’s upstairs construction) - and it worked out great. We had a bubble hockey tournament - somehow Ed and I won, I take zero credit. 

Christmas Eve we were off to celebrate with the Knutson Family!!

Then home on Christmas Day as a family to start, and invited Granny/Gramps, Nana/Papa for afternooon/dinner.

Just another week in December, with some hockey at home!

And our annual gingerbread house competition - seems someone isn’t really into it anymore. 

Eddie went with the all white theme, and sadly it didn’t help his chances. Guess we need to change it up next year. 

Trees, hockey, cookies and more

We have two fully decorated trees, finally. 

Had to replace the basement tree as the lights weren’t all working - pre lit artificial trees haven’t gotten any cheaper. But Stein’s came through with one for us. 

WVU game at home with a W. I took on the Facebook Girls Hockey page this year. It’s been more time consuming that I pictured, especially when there is more than one game a week - and JV and Varsity. 

Always trying to do something new, and be fair with which pictures are used. 

The kids weren’t able to join Blake and Luke for cookie decorating with Granny, so they go theirs to go and got them done this week!! Some interesting creations. 

More hockey and holiday fun

We had to divide and conquer this weekend - Ed and Rowan headed to Medford for a Friday night game. 

My Uncles came to watch, Steve and Dale got to see a great game. Rowan put on a show for them!

Eddie and I were in IL vs TI. Not only did we get a win, but also holiday lunch fun complete with a shinny stick exchange. Highlight of the day for many - Eddie ended up with the prized white Proto!

Too many packages delivered this weekend - Christmas is coming. 

Even got the work team gifts ready to go!!

OT win

Girls played Glaciers at Ponds this week - and it was a close game. Nail biter win in OT. 

Detroit MI

Started the weekend in MI with a Brewery stop - complete with apps and brookies with the boys. 

Ed and Eddie got to get to a Red Wings game at Little Cesars arena - pretty cool experience. 

Boys made it to the Championship, but couldn’t quite bring home the trophy. There was a ‘fight’ at the end of one of their games - which led to RJ and Eddie getting a game misconduct, and therefore unable to play in the next game. Therefore they got a spotlight moment with Dusty Benders. Eddie was in the wrong place and the wrong time, and ref penalized him for the team scuffle. Definitely didn’t help our chances of winning with these two boys not playing. 

Weather was nice, so Piper and I got out for a walk in December. 

It’s December

Another normal week in the Smith house. Hockey, St. Nick, naps, dress up…oh and your mailbox being hit by coach after dropping Eddie off - eek. So maybe not so normal - but mostly. 

St. Nick brought these teens a few goodies. Amazing what gets them out of bed in the am - presents.
