Texas Heat
Last trip of the summer - why not melt??
We headed to Dallas TX early Thursday morning - picked up our mini van rental car, headed to grocery store for some drinks and snacks, then to the hotel. We hit up the pool for a couple hours, attempted a nap, and then it was game time. Ended up with only 8 skaters for the trip - so was a long weekend with lots of ice time. The Flying Hamsters were troopers through it all.
First new eat of the weekend was Cowboy Chicken - chicken was good, the rest was so so.
Friday/Saturday/Sunday we played at 10:30am each day.
We hit up Marble slab creamery for ice cream after one game.
Had lunch with the Dallas Jr Star team for Italian (pizza/pasta) one day.
Checked out the Stockyards and Billy Bob's bar one day.
Hardeight BBQ for dinner one night, was an experience.
Spent each night hanging with our new hockey friends/families - playing games and laughing.
Tried to let the siblings coach the boys all weekend, but they got kicked off the bench before game 2, so Ed coached 2 games, and two other dads coached one game. Lots of catch/500 in the pool. Eddie and some boys got a picture with some pretty girls at the bar.
Eddie wanted to have his picture taken with Mom, so I obliged!

Rowan found out today that she made the U18 Wisconsin Elite Hockey League team (pre and post HS season games). She is super excited to play with some of her High School teammates. #24 in blue.

Cousin time
Our Michigan family came to visit Friday and Saturday!
Eddie got to get breakfast with them all on Friday and hang out at Nana and Papa's; while Rowan was returning from Door County, and had dinner plans/warm up try-on for hockey - so she joined afterwards.
Ed and I joined for dinner!
Saturday we all hit the lake for some more boating, tubing and wave runner rides. All the boys were getting more and more daring on the water this summer.

Rowan does Door County
Rowan was lucky enough to be invited to spend a week in Door County with her friend Caitlin and family.
While the weather wasn't super hot, they stayed plenty busy doing other things...
zip lining, mini golf, shopping, paddle boarding, card games, movies, etc.
So thankful to have families willing to take our kiddos on adventures like this.
She had a great time, but we sure missed her.

summer fun
Got Rowan ready for Door County with a pedicure this week.
Found some friends on my morning walk...
followed by a rainbow the next day.

July 15th - found some friends on the lake.
Tied up with The Sorkness family and met some new friends too.
Wrapped up the week with some golf, 18 holes was a first for us this summer.
Ed and Grandpa carried us, but Eddie showed me up pretty good too.

end of an era
Rowan is 15!
Here we are...15 years old.
So proud of this sassy spunk of ours. Who would have thought I would have a mini me!
The world holds great things for you Row, hold tight and enjoy the ride.
Bring on driving next. She has completed the classroom portion - just have to find time to get to the DMV to take the temps test.

1st HS hockey tournament
We were in Onalaska this weekend for a tournament with the Arrowhead HS team.
Anyone that is eligible to play HS this coming year was invited to play.
Girls played great, but lost in the Championship to a MN team. 2nd place winners.
Rowan had 1 goal and 1 assist in the tournament.
We drove up on Saturday morning - since the girls didn't play until 12:15p.
We got Noodles between games and the girls hung out.
We had dinner with the team at a place that was within walking distance outside.

It's July
Here we are in July - on the 1st we had some lake time with Zach/Aubrey and Nana/Papa - weather wasn't super great. But we did make it home just in time to watch the Nag fireworks - from the courtesy of our living room.
July 2nd we got out for some evening sun on the lake and wave runner time.
July 3rd - I had to work, but the rest of the family got to have some fun. Eddie was gone, but Rowan and Ed were able to head to the lake and surf with the Stoudt's!
On July 4th - Ed, Eddie, Papa and I went golfing (9 holes) in the morning. Then we headed to Grandma and Grandpa's for some pool time, lunch and parade.
