few day recap

Watching Ed's game tonight...#maskup
Perfect night for a fire!
Rowan killed it on the lake last night too! Thankfully for beautiful summer nights.
When Dad uses a bite zapper per Eddie's directions and without reading the actual directions...one ends up with a huge welt turned bruise on their forehead. Yikes.
S'more master in the making.
Delish!
At work we did a Christmas in July secret Santa exchange...and I received this awesome koozie!!
When the kids were getting wood for our fire...they found a friend.

she came, she tried, she loved

Rowan has been talking about wanting to try new things and maybe be done with gymnastics. So, tonight, we got the okay to let her skate with the PeeWees and U12 girls team (combo Arrowhead/Waukesha). She hasn't been on ice since this winter, but she borrowed some of her brothers gear, and got out there!

And she did great!
Can you see the figure in front of the bushes...wonder what Eddie is doing??
After...she wouldn't smile for me. But she had a great time and wants to go back tomorrow! YIPEE!

another rough day on the lake

We were out on the lake bright and early to enjoy the weather with Dusty, Julie, Hudson, Nana and Papa!
We even got to visit with Amanda, Peter and the boys (and Gregg and Kerry)
Wouldn't be Nana and Papa's without a frozen treat of some nature!
Eddie and Blake!
Snapshot of Eddie skiing...got a little more adventurous.
Boys and muscles!
Nana and Papa surprised us with some early gifts for Piper! She is going to be ready to go when we bring her home. Spoiled little pup.

lake fun

Hot one today...so we hit the lake asap. Eddie and Rowan both got to try skiing with our ski's (separated them) and behind Papa's boat. Both got up the first time!! Super exciting.
Then we headed back to Nana and Papa's to meet up with Dusty, Julie, Hudson and Monty!!
Rowan even shared her shade with Monty for a bit.
Nana and Papa are spoiling our puppy even before she arrives! Guess it was because I kept asking Nana questions about things I wanted to buy, and she had already bought. So this girl is ready to go. Life jacket, new blanket, treats, toys, yeti bowl, poop bags...all set for real now.

they learned how to ski!!

Today, the Kaminski family offered to take Rowan and Eddie out on their Mastercraft boat and teach them to ski. Tim tried to pretend like they were scared and didn't do it. Then Rowan came home with videos of both kids on the boom and then actually skiing. So proud of both of them. They of course got to swim, and play with the kids too. So grateful for great family friends!
While they were out playing, I was walking through the neighborhood and stumbled on this little family in the open lot a few lots down.

pool time

Since we didn't win this morning in Chicago, we headed home, unpacked and headed to Grandma and Grandpa's house to swim.
Chicken fights and jumping in with toddlers.

Chicago tourney with the Evictors 2011 team

We headed to Glen Ellyn Thursday night and took over Dusty and Julie's house. They were out of town, so we crashed their house for the night and then were on our way to the rink for the weekend.

Each rink had different rules on spectators, which mostly limited total of 25 per team. So Rowan and I were lucky to both get in. Therefore, no room for family to join sadly.
With Covid, the kids had to dress in the parking lot and try to keep their temperature down so they could get into the rink to play. Finding shade under tailgates and trees. Occasionally sitting in the air conditioned car longer than needed too.
We got breakfast after our morning game on Friday...before checking into the hotel.

Masks on!
Rowan's French toast
They also limited the number of people in the pool at a time.
Took home a couple wins throughout the weekend
Eddie managed a penalty...so got coached by Dad while in the box.
Eddie played center most of the weekend. Kind of fun playing with your own age group and running the rink.
Fun weekend with new friends.
