just another day...

in bucky paradise...

Today we gave tubing a try. Water is pretty chilly and it wasn't super hot out, so we didn't last very long. But both Ed and I went with each of the kids before heading back in. Water was a bit rough today as the wind has picked up.
This is the activity that goes on at bucky...pure relaxation.
We took a walk to the dam this morning and threw a few rocks in to waste some time before getting our swim suits on for the day.
Constant snacking by the beach. Nothing better than skinny pop.

2nd day in Conover

Nothing to complain about up here. Was warm and sunny today. We soaked up the sun and Ed even caught a couple fish. The kids fished off the pier a bit today too.

We have arrived...

...at Lake Bucky!

We left home around 10am and arrived just before 3pm. Traffic wasn't bad surprisingly and the kids did do pretty well. We only stopped one time, and the kids did sleep for a bit in the car. Overall quite successful.

And when we arrived the weather was beautiful. So we unpacked quick and found our suits and were off to the water.

In the evening we headed out for a boat ride and some fishing. The kids were super excited. They wanted to cast their own poles, but it appeared quite dangerous. Neither of them wanted anything to do with any fish that was caught. I wasn't good at catching much other than weeds.
Perfect night for fishing. Aftewards we head back so the kids could swim a bit more before bed.

swim visitor

Obviously with swim in the middle of the day...it's rare that someone can come and watch. But today Peter stopped by when we he was in town for work. Eddie wanted nothing to do with him. But Rowan is always ready for a picture.

And today is their last day of swim too because we are heading up north tomorrow for the entire week so we will miss the last few days next week.

more beach fun...

It has been hard having swim lessons every day from 10-1030 because it hinders what we can do the rest of the day. Which is why we tend to invite our friends to meet us at the beach. So today, my cousins Jessie and Andi met us with their kids at the beach to play. It was awesome weather for it. And so great to catch up and see all the kids.
I managed to not get a picture of Bennett, but he was there!

Woida fun

We were invited to a 1/2 birthday party for Amy, planned by her daughter Ella (who is 8). We got to catch up with some of my long lost friends from St. Joe's! Was a wonderful luncheon. The kids and I stayed a little longer than everyone else since we didn't have babies to nap. But when we did get home after 2pm, both kids crashed on the couch!

yellow team

Another week of tball...but Mom's first time there since I worked the first 2 weeks. Tonight was the first game night, the other 2 were practice. Grandpa Kris, Grandma Julie and Uncle Mitch came to watch tonight. The game was more like a scrimmage since they are only 3 years old...and Mom had to help out more than expected. But he did it all with some assistance.
Go Yellow!
We stopped at McDonalds for a vanilla ice cream cone on the way home. A nice little treat!

artwork clean up

Every once in awhile, our artwork wall gets a little overwhelming and needs to be decreased in number of pieces displayed. And since we are going to be moving soon, it seemed a good time to photograph the artwork and weed out the keepers. Quite the artists we have on our hands.

2 down...and 1 truck

Well...the day started out with Rowan wiggling out her second tooth while in the car. And in her excitement to get out of the car to show me, she misplaced the tooth altogether. And we looked everywhere. Nowhere to be found.
Then while outside playing...the ice cream truck rolled on by. My first instinct was to take the kids inside to not teach them what the ice cream truck was. And to keep them safe from the man inside. But instead...we did the opposite and took the opportunity to have a 1st ice cream truck experience and teach them about strangers. We could've bought 2 boxes of ice cream novelties for what we got a spiderman and hello kitty ice cream bar...but that's besides the point.
Was a perfect addition to their kiddy pool day.
And...so that the toothfairy didn't forget about her lost tooth, she wrote the fairy a letter asking if they would still bring her money even though she lost her tooth in the car.
(she woke up to $2 in her tooth fairy pillow)

glen ellyn

We headed to Dusty and Julie's house this weekend to visit. Complete with some great food, family, and fun entertainment. Kids played in yard with the sprinkler, ladies took a trip to Ikea. Dusty made some ribs, pizzas on the grill, I was versed in bruschetta preparation (with Dusty's hope he will never have to make it again), men played some cards with kids help. Fun weekend away.

And it is officially public now that Dusty and Julie are expecting a baby in November! Yay!

friday swim

On Friday @ swim lessons, the kids get to put on life jackets and jump off the pier. Sort of a safety and fun day all in one. Rowan jumped off easy...Eddie needed help. Pretty normal compared to other kids their ages it seems. They had fun.

cloudy day...

The day started with some cold and cloudy swim lessons.
Then it continued with long sleeves at the zoo with Uncle Mitch and Grandma Julie. We did the Sting Ray and shark exhibit! Rowan was so chicken to touch them...but she did eventually. Eddie wanted nothing to do with it.
And a zoo trip wouldn't be complete without a train ride.

friends join...

Today Will and Hailey joined us at the beach after swim lessons. Got to splash and play and actually stay warm today!
And some bike riding and popples in the afternoon.

swimmin' again...

So nice to see the sun and feel the warmth while at swim lessons. This June it has been hard to come by.

fathers day fun...

Because Ed loves his picture taken so much...we don't have a photo of him to share today. But we did visit Grandpa Kris on father's day and took a stroll downtown Pewaukee to the Chocolate Factory to enjoy some ice cream with him.
Then in the evening we got together with the neighbors to celebrate Hailey's 2nd birthday with ice cream cake. Our favorite too!

Family Wedding

Today, Rowan and Eddie spent the night with Nana and Papa while Ed and I attended Lisa's wedding. The wedding was short and sweet in Waukesha and then the cocktails and dinner were immediately following at the Yacht club in Pewaukee. Was a fun day away.
We can clean up pretty nice when we want to.

poms camp...

We had some unplanned play time while Rowan was at poms camp today. Eddie got to enjoy a morning popple with his friends.
Rowan had a few hours of poms camp with the Oconomowoc Poms squad today. She got to learn some moves, have a snack and put on a performance for the parents. She got a t-shirt and poms of her own to keep too.
She had a fun time with all the girls. And she did a great job performing.
