We got to have lunch with Grandma Julie today since she played hookie from work on her birthday! Perfect start to working the next 4 days.

Bennett, Grant and Jess came to visit today. Bennett loved playing at our house, and he ate like a little stud. Didn't want to leave or stop playing. Grant was a trooper too. He played and then slept the 2nd half of the visit.

makes me feel old and wonder where the time has gone...gizmo, my first baby is going to be 9 next month (ok, well March). He was the easiest of the 3 and poor boy gets the shaft nowadays! Perfect little trio.

Will and Hailey had us over to play today. We were going to play after school, but since school was cancelled again today due to -40 windchills this am, why not play inside with our friends.

more snow...

We were ultimate shovelers today, with some sledding too. Got some more snow last night so we had to snowblow (okay for a change it was dad doing it) but we helped with the shovel. Then we headed to Nana and Papa's to clean up their driveway as they are vacationing in Florida. So we tried neighbor Gail's hill for sledding. Not too shabby.

...got Eddie a new sweatshirt at Costco, to say he loves it would be an understatement.

sleepover success...

Last night, Rowan and Eddie has their first sleepover at someone else's house without us! Sniffle Sniffle. I know, long overdue. But Grandma Julie claims they did awesome! Yeah! Ed and I went to dinner and watched a movie. Was very weird watching a movie with no interruptions.

sledding with friends...

We started sledding in our yard, and then moved to the Kowieski's hill, and then of course inside for some hot chocolate. Fun times. Ingrid and I even raced down the hill. Pretty sure I won!

baby it's cold outside

Rowan loves the fireplace the most I think. Just trying to stay warm this winter, will it ever end?

Stir Crazy...

We took the kids to Stir Crazy for dinner tonight. They loved it. The chopsticks were their favorite. They did a good job...I needed cheaters like them.

big boy bed...

Eddie has been waking up in the middle of the night, sometimes more than once, usually because his blanket fell off his bed and he just wants to be covered back up. But it is getting old. Even for Ed, who generally doesn't even hear him wake up and only deals with it the 2 nights a week that I work.

 

Either way, a couple of days ago, I was on a hunt for mattresses so we could convert Eddie's crib into a full size bed instead of the toddler bed. Success! And the mattresses came today. So here it is. New bedding that has been waiting for 6 months (had to buy them when they were on sale).

 

We will see how the night goes. Can't be any worse.

snow time

...days where it is warm enough to tolerate being outside are few and far between. So we played after school for a bit in the snow. Cutie pies.

no good very bad day...

...because Dad sent the wrong snowpants for each child. Today was the first day Eddie has even worn them at daycare too. His teachers didn't say anything about his pants that were 4 sizes too big.

 

Rowan got off the bus, and the first thing she said to me was, "Mom, I had a very bad day today", Me: "Why honey?", Rowan: "Because Daddy sent Eddie's pants for me today." Oh, sure enough, those are a little short, can't believe she could even zip them. Too funny.

safety 1st

Ed let Rowan try on his safety glasses today. She is quite the little beauty, glasses or not.

They love...

each other...right now. Give 'em time, that'll change in about 5 minutes. Someone will be bossing someone else around and then someone will be hitting the other...and so on. But they can love each other in between all the chaos.

 

Back to school today after having off the last two days because of the polar vortex and below freezing wind chills. What happened to snow days due to snowfall, where we could still go out and play in the snow. Not this year.

...but we still go out! Were invited to the Bonnett's house to play on this freezing cold 'no school' day. Nice to get the kids out of the house. Wish is was a day off where we could be outside, but way too cold.

Kin...

The Tetzlaff family paid us a visit today to see our house before they head back to sunny FL. Kids were so excited for Quinn to come play. They played and watch a little bit of a movie, had some popcorn and lots of fun. (Eddie says Quinn more like "kin", thus the title of the post)
